This week at E.C.H.S., school spirit is rampant as the Blue Devils celebrate homecoming week. "Wanted: Warriors" is the theme this year, as the Devils take on the Russell County Warriors Friday night.
Several activities will take place at the school this week, including an alumni tea at 10 a.m. Friday and the Homecoming pep rally at 11:05 a.m. The E.C.H.S. marching band will be performing its halftime show at the pep rally, which will take place in the stadium.
The parade will be tomorrow at 6 p.m., rather than Friday as it has been in the past. It starts at the Lions Club Community Center, heads west on Craig, turns south on Main and turns left onto Lindberg, ending at the high school. During the parade, these streets will be blocked. Homecoming queens Brooke McGhee and Samaria Boggen will ride in the parade, as will junior, sophomore and freshman maids.
Dress-up days for students at E.C.H.S. are today-Retro/ Flashback day, in which students dress from their favorite era from the 1950s-present; Thursday- Movie Character day, students dress up as favorite movie characters; Friday- Dress up in "Sunday best." The game starts at 7:30 p.m., and the homecoming court will be announced during halftime. The dance follows immediately after the game ends.
