The Northview Chiefs, whose season record was 0-5, went into Friday night's game wanting and needing a win. With a final score of 33-0 over South Walton the Chiefs' wants and efforts carried them into the end zone more than once on the evening.
With 3:51 left in the first quarter the Chiefs began to take control of the game. Trey Mims of the Chiefs scored the first touchdown of the game after making an astounding 85-yard run. The PAT was good bringing the score to 7-0. This marked the first touchdown for the night and laid the groundwork for more to follow. The Chiefs ended the first quarter with Jordan Stacey scoring a 1-yard run with only 25 seconds left in the quarter.
The Chiefs were not going to let up there. Stacy ran again, this time for a 35-yard touchdown scoring on South Walton. Nick Driver provided another touchdown with a 1-yard run. The Chiefs even took the ball from South Walton when Brandon Moore returned the ball off an intercepted pass for a whopping 70 yards. This touchdown led the Chiefs in to halftime with an astounding lead over South Walton 33-0.
Coach Chad Lashley put his substitutes in to play the second half. At the end of the game, the Chiefs held on to their dominating lead for a final score of 33-0.
Lashley, proud of his players said, "We feel like we've got a chance to win our next two."
Friday the Chiefs will play the Escambia County Blue Devils at home. Game time is 7:30.
