Thief snatches bank bag in broad daylight

The Atmore Police Department is investigating a strong-armed robbery Thursday on Pensacola Avenue.
According to police investigator Lt. Charles Elliard, Adolph Sutton Sr. was in the parking lot behind First National Bank about 8:55 a.m. when he was robbed.
According to Sutton and other witnesses, a man described as being black, in his mid-to-late 20s, about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall and about 160 to180 pounds, ran up from behind and grabbed the bank bag Sutton was carrying. The suspect got away with an undetermined amount of cash.
Sutton was not injured in the robbery and no one noticed a weapon carried or displayed.
Police have said they are pursuing all leads and have developed several suspects. Anyone with information about the robbery may call the Atmore Police Department at 368-9141
