Three people were transported to the local hospital Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle accident, while blocking two lanes of traffic.
According to witnesses at the scene, a red Ford truck, travelling west on Nashville Avenue collided with a blue Ford sedan. The car was turning from Second Avenue onto Nashville and was struck by the truck.
One eye-witness said there was a log truck turning right onto Second Avenue from Nashville Avenue, which may have blocked the view of the driver of the car.
It appeared to witnesses the car was easing onto Nashville Avenue slowly, trying to see past the log truck. Once the driver pulled out far enough to see around the truck, the car was struck by the red pickup truck.
An officer at the scene reported that the three passengers of the blue car were transported to Atmore Community Hospital by ambulance. The conditions of the occupants, one woman and two minors, according to witnesses, were unavailable. The man driving the Ford pickup truck was not injured.
No charges were issued, however the investigation is still under way.
