Three new princesses selected

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians crowned three princesses Thursday, despite bad weather conditions, during the 33rd annual Thanksgiving Pow Wow.
In the Elementary division, Shawna McGhee, daughter of Carla McGhee and Michael Montgomery, won the title. She is a 10-year-old student at Perdido Elementary School. The Princess for the Junior division, ages 11-14, is Heather White, daughter of Lena and Joe White. Heather is 14-years-old and a student at Escambia County High School. Sister of the junior princess and a 16-year-old student at ECHS, Shelly White took the title of Senior Princess, ages 15-20.
Alternate Elementary Princess is Deidre Smith. She is the daughter of Terry and Theresa Smith. There were four girls competing for this title. Tori Rodriguez, daughter of Janet and Chris Rodriguez, was named Alternate in the junior division; there were five competitors in this age group. Out of six senior contestants, Brittany Linam was named Alternate for Senior Princess. She is the daughter of Rhonda and Todd Linam.
All winners are from the Atmore/Poarch area.
