Joy Riders meet in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church at noon. Bring a covered dish. Everyone is invited.
Jan. 15
Master Gardener classes, offered by the Escambia County Office of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, begin. The classes will be held in the Atmore United Methodist Church and the course will include Plant Physiology, Turf, Soils, Vegetables, Fruits, Landscape design, Plant Pathology, Bedding Plants, Insect and Weed Control and other topics. To register for the classes, which will run from Jan. 15-April 1, or for more information, you may call 867-7760.
Jan. 20
The Atmore Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the public library meeting room. Guest speaker Tim Currie will discuss the history of the local cotton industry.
