Franklin Delaney "Danny" Bryars
Mr. Franklin Delaney "Danny" Bryars, 55, of Perdido, died Friday, January 30,2004, in Pensacola.
Mr. Bryars was a Patrol Officer with the Atmore Police Dept. and a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was born in Rabon, AL on November 12, 1948 to Otha and Myrtice Hicks Bryars.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Bryars and his wife, Jennifer, of Virginia Beach; and Daniel Bryars and his wife, Jennifer, of Bay Minette; two daughters, Joy Bryars of Perdido; and Beth Protsman and her husband, Robert, of Bellvue, Neb; four brothers, Kenneth Bryars of Montgomery; Chester Bryars; Charles Bryars, and Michael Bryars all of Bay Minette; eight grandchildren, Alexandria, Haylee, Nickki, Delaney, Megan, Hannah, Tydus and Morgan.
Services were held Monday, February 02, 2004 at Splinterhill Pentecostal Church in Perdido, with Sister Thursia Long and Bro. James Peacock officiating. Interment followed at Guy's Chapel Cemetery in Rabon, with full Military Honors.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, INC was in charge of arrangements.
James Duward "Buddy" Holsonback
Mr. James Duward "Buddy" Holsonback, 69, died Tuesday, January 27, 2004, in Century.
Mr. Holsonback was born on August 22, 1934. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Ferguson Holsonback and a granddaughter, Laura Fay Holsonback.
He is survived by his wife of eleven months, Dorothy Sutton Holsonback; two sons, James Allen Holsonback and his wife, Jennifer and Mitchell Duward Holsonback and his wife, Doreen; his daughter, Rose Marie Hornbeck and her husband, Michael; six grandchildren, Michael Scott Hornbeck, Amber Hornbeck, James Lee Holsonback, Megan Holsonback, Morgan Holsonback, and Macie Holsonback; his Great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Holsonback; a brother, S.W. Holsonback; two sisters, Elaine Davis and Margaret Chapman; five step-children, Forrest Sutton III and his wife, Donna; James Sutton and his wife, Robin; Dorothy Morgan and her husband, Damon; Donna Chivarilla and her husband, Xavier; and Cindy Hudson and her husband, Gene; eleven step-grandchildren and eight step-Great-grandchildren.
No services will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Atmore Regions Bank.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Lanen A. Jurney
Ms. Lanen A. Jurney, 63, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, in Mobile.
Ms. Jurney is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Jurney; her parents, Ralph Whitney and Mary Crumley; a sister, Faye Newton; and a brother, Jack Crumley Jr.She is survived by three daughters, Tammy Ward and her husband, Paul, of Dyersburg, TN; Lolita Simpson of Atmore; and Terri Respress and her husband, Tom, of Atmore; two brothers, Ralph Whitney and Tommy Whitney, both of Dyersburg, TN.; three sisters, Dorothy Cooper and Laura Burns both of Dyersburg, TN; and Marilyn Fortner of Lakecity, SC; four grandchildren, Tabitha and Jeremiah Ward; and Josh and Ethan Gurley; and one Great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Gurley.
Services were held Tuesday, February 03, 2004 at Atmore Memorial Chapel with Rev. C.L. Langford officiating. Active Pall Bearers were: Tom Respress, Paul Ward, Jeremiah Ward, Ethan Gurley, Bill Burns, and Roger Phelps. Honorary Pall Bearer was Josh Gurley. Interment followed at the McCullough Cemetery.
Atmore Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
