Obituaries for Feb 18, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
Carol Ann Giddens
Mrs. Carol Ann Giddens, 64, died Monday, February 16, 2004, in Atmore.
Mrs. Giddens was a native of Port St. Joe, Fla. and a resident of Atmore for the past 44 years. She attended Atmore First Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her father, R.O. "Pete" Roberts, her mother, Verna Lee Roberts and her brother, Charles Roberts.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Robert "Bob" and Rose Giddens of Silver Hill; one great-grandchild, Sara Rolin of Atmore; two sisters-in-law: Betty Hutchison of Montgomery and Barbara Jones of Atmore; her mother-in-law, Mary Giddens of Atmore; and two special cousins: Olivia Bryan of Atmore and Claudette Nix of Bay Minette.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 19 at 10 a.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. J.D. Renfroe officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18 between 5:30 and 9:00 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Eunice Presley Rolin
Mrs. Eunice Presley Rolin, 68 of Atmore died Friday February 13, 2004 at her residence.
She was a homemaker, born in Escambia County, Ala. to the late William H. and Rena Heathcock Presley. She was a member of Poarch Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dempsey Rolin; two Brothers, Howard Presley and John Arthur Presley and one great-granddaughter, Hannah Leah Schachle.
She is survived by five sons, William Rolin and his wife, Brenda, Don Wayne Rolin and his wife, Helen, Ronnie Rolin and his wife, Margie, Melvin Rolin and his wife, Marty and Paul Rolin and his wife, Felicia, all of Atmore; four daughters; Vera Ramer and her husband Jackey, Carolyn Dortch and her husband, Paul and Lisa Barnhill and her husband Donald, all of Nokomis; one brother, Bennie Charles Presley of McCullough; four sisters Willie Pearl Nall and Shirlene Mauldie both of Pensacola, Beatrice Presley of Flomaton and Atrice Beatrice Gibson of Walnut Hill; 42 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and special friends Margaret Milstead, Bobbie Pearson, Erdeal McGhee, Deloris Schultz, Hattie Lou Morris, Ruthie Mae Rackard and numerous others.
Service were held Sunday February 15 at 2 p.m. at Poarch Baptist Church with the Rev. Leo Luker, Jr. and the Rev. Bubba Rolin officiating.
Burial followed at New Home Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers were Larry Bailey, Arthur Ramer, Gary "Boman" Presley, Johnny Presley, John Arthur McGhee, and Matthew Reynolds.

Theda Blanton Harrell
Mrs. Theda Blanton Harrell, 64, of Titusville, Fla. died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at her residence. She was born in Bratt on March 21, 1939 to Grover and Edna Davis Blanton. She taught eighth grade Science in the Titusville School System and was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church of Titusville.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Harrell; her daughter, Rhonda Harrell, of Titusville; two brothers: Elwood Blanton of Bratt and Elyan Blanton of Walnut Hill; two sisters, Ouida Wiggins of Bratt and Renee Godwin of Davisville and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 18 at 11 a.m. at Godwin Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Little officiating.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
Vernon McCraney
Mr. Vernon McCraney, 79 died Sunday February 15, 2004, in Atmore.
Mr. McCraney was a native of Baker, Fla. and a resident of Atmore for the past 20 years. He attended the Church of the Living God.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann McCraney; a son, Larry McCraney and a sister, Omie McCraney.
He is survived by his wife, Genese McCraney of Atmore; two sons, Jerry McCraney and his wife, Margie, of Atmore and Doug McCraney and his wife, Hattie, of Anchorage; six daughters, Jan and Billy Powell, Debbie and Terry Fulbright, and Jo and Robert Bexley all of Atmore, Ann and Wayne Waddell of Philadelphia, Miss., Bobbie and Billy Walker of Mobile and Rita Ikner of Frisco City; his brother, Leroy and Elaine McCraney of Fairhope; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 17 at 2 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Harrison officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris Garrett, Keith Fulbright, Jerry McCraney, James McCraney, Charles England, and Ricky McMillan.
