One man shot, second arrested after attempted burglary

Two Atmore men were arrested Friday night and charged with attempting to burglarize a man's home near Oak Grove, Fla.
One of the men, Jason Patrick Love, 20 of Atmore, suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm after being shot by the homeowner.
He was treated at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola and transported to the Escambia County (Fla.) Jail where he was charged with burglary of a dwelling.
The second man, Darrell R. Brooks, of McDavid, Fla. was arrested at McRae Apartments in Atmore by the Atmore Police Department after allegedly fleeing the scene.
He was transported to the Escambia County (Ala.) jail Monday on a fugitive warrant, and will be extradited to Escambia County (Fla.) law officials, according to Atmore Police officials.
According to reports, Paul Hudson discovered the two men in his home on C.R. 99 in McDavid, Fla. Friday night about 7 p.m. Hudson is a correctional officer at the Escambia County Road Camp.
Hudson shot Love after Love allegedly charged at Hudson, according to reports.
Love was placed in jail under a $10,000 bond. No word was available at press time on Brooks' bond.
