ECMS work okayed

Work is expected to begin soon in the construction of a physical education building at Escambia County Middle School.
Thursday, the Escambia County Board of Education approved four bid proposals to begin construction on the building located on U.S. 21 in Atmore. Approved were a bid for Hines Construction Company, Inc. to do site work, slab and plumbing for $31,000; an electrical bid awarded to Tri-Co Electric Company in the amount of $35,000; a mechanical bid to Bud's Refrigeration Service for $11,334; and a pre-engineered metal building bid to Bay Technical Building Systems, Inc. for $31,652.
All expenses for this project will come from state funds.
In other business, the board recognized Betty Clark for her work with Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and for her appointment to the state FBLA board for the term of June 2004 to July 2007.
Clark is a business office education teacher at the Escambia Brewton Career Technical Center.
