The Greater Escambia for the Arts will present Oklahoma at Escambia County High School at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children and are available at the door.
August 5
Escambia County Middle School will hold an open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Parents and students will be able to pick up schedules and tour the school.
Temple Christian Academy will hold an open house from 8 a.m. to noon. Parents are encouraged to bring their students, as this is an excellent opportunity for them to view their classrooms, meet their leaders and visit with their new classmates.
August 6
Meet the Teacher Day for first and second grade students is scheduled from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Rachel Patterson Elementary School.
August 7
Escambia County High Booster Club will host the NFL and Pepsi PP&K (punt, pass and kick). Starts at 9 a.m. and you may register at Elite Sporting Goods or go online to www.ppk-NFLyouthfootball.com. For more information contact Gerald McAnally at 368-3727.
The Barnett-Hawkins second patriotic reunion will be held at New Bethlehem Baptist church at Barnett's Crossroads from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meat will be furnished, but please bring a covered dish. contact Sue Newman at 850-476-3209 or Cecil Ellis at 446-1127 for more information.
August 9
Kindergarten Orientation and Meet the Teacher Day will be at 9 a.m. at Rachel Patterson Elementary School Kindergarten students will dismiss after orientation and Meet the Teacher. Class lists will be posted on Meet the Teacher Day.
August 10

Reid State Childcare Classes to be offered at the YMCA building upstairs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Please call (251) 578-1313 for a Fall 2004 Registration Packet, testing or further information for college entrance.
August 21
The Open Buddy Bass Tournament will be held from safelight until 3 p.m. at Isaac Creek Landing located at the Claiborne Lock and Dam on the Alabama River. Registration begins at 4:30 a.m. at Paul's Tackle Box. There is an $80 boat fee which includes a lunker pot. For more info call Paul's tackle box at 251-575-4354.

The Mississippi Pecan Festival is currently taking applications for Arts and Craft, Antiques and Collectible booths for this years festival. The 18th annual festival is in Richton, Miss.
