She got a bicycle for her birthday, but decided to give to someone in need.
Carlee Gohagen, is living with her family in a 32 ft. travel trailer outside their restaurant, The Wishing Well in Walnut Hill.
Candy Stuckey and her family had to leave their home after it was severely damaged by Hurricane Ivan.
That didn't stop the family from celebrating a child's birthday. But when Stuckey, who runs the restaurant, saw a man walking down FL 97 with bags on his back, she invited him to the restaurant for a meal from the extra food.
"We had food leftover, and I told my husband to call him in for a meal," Stuckey said. "He told us he was trying to get to Tallahassee."
That's when 12-year-old Gohagen decided to donate her bike. At first, she was leery of the family having the stranger come in from the street. "But it was a long way to try to walk," Stuckey said.
Gohagen said he was doing it "just to be nice." Now, she says she's a little embarrassed by the attention she's received, but feels she did the right thing.
"We'll get her another bike soon," Stuckey said.
