Obituaries for January 16 edition of the Atmore Advance
Pamela Sue Mason
FLOMATON – Pamela Sue Mason, 48, passed away on Jan. 9 at a Pensacola hospital.
She was born in Charleston, S.C. on May 30, 1956 and was a former resident of Florida. She attended the New Covenant Holiness Church and was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammi Lynn Johnson.
Funeral services were held Jan. 13 at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Shelton Kingdig and Rev. Wesley L. Patrick officiating. Graveside services followed at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery.
Survivors include, her mother, Carol E. Wiggins of Century; her father and stepmother, Robert and Elly Clark of Champaign, Ill.; two sons, Justin Wyatt and Clinton Wooten, both of Cantonment; two sisters, Patricia Elaine Worth of Cantonment and Penelope Ann Dunn of Pace and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included, Kenneth Dunn, Michael Patrick, Stevie Robertson, Jr., Tommy Broadway, Ronald McCall and Ernest Sellers.
Arthur Paul Merchant Jr.
ATMORE – Arthur Paul Merchant Jr., 53, passed away Jan.10 at a local hospital.
Mr. Merchant was a native of Mobile and a resident of Atmore for the past 50 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, a member of the Millwright Local 2071 for 25 years, a retired employee of Jefferson Smurfit and attended the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Jan. 12 at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. George Nall and Earl Jeter officiating. Graveside services followed at Pine Barren Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Merchant's father, Arthur Merchant; his mother Myrtle M. Merchant; his wife Jane Lienna Merchant and daughter, Gina Danielle Merchant, preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his granddaughter Bethaney Merchant of Atmore; stepson Ricky (Nina) Wooten of Louisiana; two step grandchildren; a step daughter Tracey (Kevin) Ware of Elberta; step grandchildren, Lienna Wooten and Rick Wooten and Courtney Ware, Taylor Ware, Heather Biggs and a sister, Judy and Bobby Amerson of Bratt, Fla.
Gladys Graham Hall
OAK GROVE, Fla. – Mrs. Gladys Graham Hall, 89, passed away Jan. 11 in Atmore.
Mrs. Hall was a homemaker, born in Oak Grove, Fla. on Aug. 28, 1915 to the late, Charlie Edward and Maggie Godwin Graham. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hall's husband, Horace Angus Hall, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Jan. 13 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Chewning officiating. Graveside services followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include, one son James (Anita) Hall of Oak Grove, Fla.; three daughters, Jean (Garlon) King of Oak Grove, Fla., Helen (Winston) Conway and Betty (Ben) Hardee all of Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, Doyle (Gladyne) of Wilmar; one sister, Georgia Lambert of Pensacola, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Pallbearers included, Keith Peebles, Kevin Peebles, Steve Conway, Jamie Hall, Rusty Halland Bill King.
