Atmore – Mr. Richard Alan "Cookie" Cook, Jr. age 22 of Atmore died Monday, Jan. 3 in Walnut Hill, Fl. He was a Student, born in Panama City, Fla. on Oct. 28, 1982 to Richard A. Cook, Sr. and Sheila Hunt. He was a Faithful Member of First Assembly of God Church and an Active Member of Powerhouse Ministries. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cecil E. Cook and maternal grandparents, Paul and Alneta Hunt.
Survivors are: his father and step-mother Richard and Rebecca Cook of Walnut Hill, Fl, his mother and step-father Sheila and Dennis Mock of Atmore, Ala.. Paternal Grandmother Beatrice Cook. one sister Rachel Cook of Ocala, Fla. Three step-brothers Daniel Malone of Cantonment, Fla., David and Dominick Mock of Atmore, Al, two step-sisters Alicia Dixon of Cantonment, Fla. and Tracy Mock of Atmore, Ala. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, and other Relatives and many friends.
Services were held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at 2:00p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Barren Cemetery, Davisville, Fla.. Family received friends Friday, Jan. 7 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5pm to 8pm.
A trust fund had been set-up at First National Bank for Richard Alan Cook, Jr. P.O.Box 27 Atmore, Al 36504.

Vera Voncile Findley
Flomaton – Mrs. Vera Voncile "Seal" Findley, 80, passed away Thursday, Jan.13, 2005 in Century.
Mrs. Findley was a native of Fannie, Ala. and a resident of Flomaton for most of her life. She was an employee of Village Flower Shop for 40 years, Griffin Florist for six years, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and member the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Findley and a Son Russell Findley.
Survivors include her son Dale and Elvennia Findley of Flomaton, her daughter Judy and Woodrow Courtney of Flomaton, a daughter-in-law Karen Cash of Flomaton, a brother Joe and Wilma Turner of Flomaton, a sister Beulah Nisewonger of Century; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Henderson and Bro. Brian Richburg officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Home Cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 15 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Murphy, Jeff Fisher, Jonathan Cooley, Jason Hart, Todd White, and Rusty Burnham.
Lucille Lacy Dixon
JAY – Lucille Lacy Dixon, age 66 of Jay, Fla. died Friday, Jan. 14 in Pensacola, Fla..
She was a Longtime resident of Jay, a member of Cora Baptist Church, operated J &J and Easy Serve Stores in Jay and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Ila Mae Lacy.
She is survived by son Bobby Porter of Bastrop, La, daughter Amanda Porter, Jay, Fla, granddaughters April Carr, of Bastrop, LA. and Kristen Carr of Jay, Fla. Seven sisters Lula Mae Johnson of Jay, Luverne Slate of Jay, Betty Cofield of Jay, Faye Brantley of Flomaton, and Janice Phillips of Enterprise, Ala.. Three brothers Wayne Lacy of Brewton, Gary Lacy and Jerry Lacy both of Jay, Fla..
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday at Jay Funeral Home with Rev. Louie Pettis and Rev. Joe Lee Officiating. Burial will follow at Cora Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jason and Jeffery Lacy, Ken, Jeff, Jeffery and Randy Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers are Scott Blackmon and Mark Leflore.
Luther Benjamin Gross
Pensacola – Mr. Luther Benjamin Gross, age 92 of Pensacola, Fla. formerly of Atmore, AL died Monday, Jan. 17 in Pensacola. He was a retired truck driver, born in Monroe County, Ala. on March 17, 1912 to the late Percy and Lena Little Gross.
He was a member of the Brooks Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors are: his wife, Ethel Madison Gross Two daughters Sherry Schaeffer and husband Glenn. Sheila Byrs and husband Michael all of Pensacola, Fl. Three grandchildren Lisa Huggins, James Byrd, and Jennifer Byrd. One great-grandson Blake Duvall.
Services will be Wednesday, January 19 at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Grindel Officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday Jan. 19 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until service time.

Barbara C. Dannelley
Pensacola – Barbara was a native of McCullough, Ala. and had lived in Pensacola since 1956. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family on Jan. 17, 2005.
She was a member of Pensacola Baptist Temple. She was currently a homemaker and talented seamstress and was employed at NAS Pensacola, Fla conducting aircraft upholstery service for the military. Barbara was a loving, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved all her family and friends unconditionally.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of years, "Pete," daughter, Cindy Grimsley; two grandchildren Tamara Grimsley and Chris Grimsley (grand-daughter-law Kandas Grimsley); two great-grandchildren, Madalynn and Preston Grimsley, a special nephew, Maurice Conway, six sisters Myrtle Singleton, Ophelia Lynam, Mable Johnson, Leatrice Stacey, Joyce Neal and Catherine Drew; two brother, Winston and Ray Conway; and a special neighbor and friend, Marion Kemp.
Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday, Jan. 20 at Oaklawn Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior the services. Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Joey Brazwell, Jameson Kimbrel, Kenny Conway, James Johnson, Ralph Drew and Andy Boutwell. The family wishes to express a very heart-felt thanks to Dr. Chen, Gulf Coast Physicians Partners, and nurse Kandas Grimsley.
