The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in the process of doing the final sweep for storm debris in Atmore.
"We are continuing to work all over town to pick up storm debris," Mayor Howard Shell said.
Until debris the storm debris is picked up garbage pickup schedules will remain irregular. "We hope to get the regular garbage pickup back on schedule soon."
The exact day for curb-side debris cleanup is not known.
"We aren't sure how much longer we will be doing this," James Tolin, an Atmore city employee in charge of picking up debris for FEMA, said.
The cleanup project is close to completion and this is one of the final stages.
"If storm debris is not put on the curb before the trucks come by to pick it up, it will no longer be our responsibility," Shell said. "After FEMA leaves town, property owners will have to dispose of their own debris."
According to Shell FEMA is marking streets they have already visited and will not return to those streets to pick up remaining trash.
