The Escambia County Big Blue stormed into Brewton on Tuesday, claiming a 76-51 win over the T.R. Miller Tigers.
Despite the big win, Coach William Brown said there was still room for improvement.
"We could've played better," Brown said. "There were a lot of things we didn't do very well that we'll have to get better at, but they played hard. That's really all you can ask."
The Big Blue trailed 40-36 at the half, but were ahead 61-45 at the end of the third quarter.
"They kind of jumped out on us," Brown said. "We helped them out with some turnovers and everything. But we eventually settled down and turned things around."
Jeremy McCants was the game's leading scorer, tallying 21 points. Frank Taylor pitched in 12 points to the Big Blue total.
While Brown wasn't happy with everything from the game, he was pleased with one thing: effort.
"Even if things aren't going your way giving a lot of effort keeps you in the game," Brown said. "We've just got to start playing our game more, having fun, playing good defense, that sort of thing. If we do all that we'll be all right."
The Big Blue travelled Friday night to face Gulf Shores, but that game was incomplete at press time.
