Alabama is lucky enough to have two college programs to help pay for college tuition. One program, the Higher Education 529 fund, recently won a top rating from Investforcollege.com. The 529 plan can help pay for anything from tuition to books to computers.
In addition to 529, Alabama also has the Prepaid Affordable College Tuition Plan (PACT). This plan allows parents to begin paying for college now at the current rate so their children can go to college years down the road no matter what the future tuition costs are.
According to State Treasurer Kay Ivey, these two funds now have over a billion dollars that can go towards our children's education.
These college programs are just two things that make Alabama a great place for our children to grow.
