Huddle House shuts down Poarch, 14-0

After taking a break Thursday for Escambia County High School's "Meet the Blue Devils" night, Atmore Babe Ruth Baseball returned to action with a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Tom Byrne Park.
The day started out with the Huddle House squad decimating the Poarch Creek Indian team by a score of 14-0.
Blake Kirk pitched the shutout for Huddle House, and also scored a run. Laurence Thomas, Tyler Brown, and A.J. Beachy all crossed the plate three times for Huddle House; and Douglas Oliver, Kenny Staples, and Reginald Yelder each scored runs of their own.
Alan Smith knocked a double to lead Poarch.

Pepsi 13
An upset was in the works in the late game Saturday at Tom Byrne Park, as the Greenlawn Pharmacy team used a six-run sixth inning to put away the Pepsi Cola of Atmore squad.
Ben Hess scored three runs for Greenlawn on the day, including two walks. Elliot Faircloth, Blake Walker, Nick Flowers, Ryan Linam, and Tyler Hochstetler all crossed the plate twice on the day. Faircloth knocked a double, and Hochstetler and Walker added triples. Jamaris Curry, Shay Gibson and Haden McGill added the other Greenlawn runs.
Skylar Peacock and Steven Yoder packed the punch for Pepsi in a losing cause, each scoring three runs. Rolin added a double. Justin Rolin, Nick Mills, and Ryan Lambert added two runs apiece; and Emon Brooks added the other Pepsi run.
