After Tropical Storm Arlene put a halt on Atmore Babe Ruth Baseball's plans for a game on Friday and four more to finish out the season on Saturday, fans were treated to a Sunday afternoon doubleheader at Tom Byrne Park.
The Poarch Creek Indian and Huddle House teams started off the action on the afternoon, and Poarch showed no ill effects from the layoff, winning 13-2 in a game shortened by the mercy rule.
Kenny Bowens led Poarch, scoring four runs and reaching base in each of his four at-bats, reaching on two walks, a single, and an error. Hunter Milliken and Jacob Rackard each scored twice, and Milliken added a double. Garrett Walley, Nico Johnson, Cody Vickrey, and Allen Smith also added runs for Poarch.
Kendrick Staples and Kyle Chafin scored the two Huddle House runs.

Things went much better for Huddle House as they shutout the Pepsi-Cola of Atmore team 7-0 in the second game Sunday.
Lawrence Thomas and Douglas Oliver led Huddle House on the afternoon, each scoring two runs. Thomas added a home run in the sixth inning. Kendrick Staples, Reginald Yelder, and Tyler Brown scored the other Huddle House runs.
A Justin Rolin single in the second inning was the only base-hit Pepsi would manage off Huddle House pitcher Tyler Brown.
