A Brewton man was arrested in Flomaton on Friday and officers recovered crack cocaine estimated at $2,000.
At approximately 10 p.m., Flomaton Police Officers made a routine traffic stop on Titi Street in Flomaton. Officers observed Darren Lemare Green, 36, of 1506 Ridge Road in the vehicle. The officers then called the Drug Task Force agents to the scene. Also responding to the scene was a K-9 unit from Escambia County (Fla.) sheriff's department and a trooper from the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
The officers recovered three plastic bags containing crack cocaine consisting of more than 20 grams. To be charged with trafficking, a suspect must be carrying 28 grams of crack or more.
Officials said Green was out on bond for possession of crack cocaine. His bond was revoked and he was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
