Ellis G. Beck
BAY SPRING, Fla. – Ellis G. Beck, 69, of Bay Spring passed away Thursday, June 16 in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North in Cantonment, Fla. Graveside services were held at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday until service time.
Mr. Beck was born July 18, 1935 in Escambia County, Fla., and has been a life long resident of Bay Springs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired after working over 30 years with Monsanto. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church. Ellis is survived by his wife, Virginia E. Beck; his daughter, Wanda Parrott and her husband, Joe; his son, William E. Beck and his wife, Lynn; two granddaughters, Laura and Emily Becks; three brothers, Gene Beck and his wife, Betty, Stephen E. Beck and his wife, Francis, and Burton C. Beck and his wife, Terrie; and two sisters, Nina Weeks and Nila Kimmons.
Dona Wooley Ward
ATMORE – Mrs. Dona Wooley Ward, 88, of Atmore passed away Sunday, June 19. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 21 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Headley officiating. Graveside services followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday until service time.
Mrs. Ward was a retired supervisor with Vanity Fair Mills. She was born in Repton on August 3, 1916 to the late Emmett and Mary Susanna Williamson Wooley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Earl Ward; and one great-grandson, David Wayne Franklin. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Anne Lee of Pace, Fla., and Margaret Earl Sieboldt and her husband, Chester, of Pensacola; one brother, Jesse Wooley of Mobile; one sister, Margarette Earl of Atmore; four grandchildren, Donna Tipton, Ray Sieboldt, Jennifer Crews, and Teresa McCreless; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.

Daniel Scott Hultberg
JAY, Fla. – Daniel Scott Hultberg, 47, of Jay passed away June 13. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18 at Bethel Holiness Church, with Pastor Benny Wolfe officiating. Graveside services followed in Bethel Holiness Church Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday until service time.
Mr. Hultberg was a longtime resident of Berrydale, Fla., and a member of Bethel Holiness Church. He worked in construction and had his own landscaping service. He was loved by all his family, friends, and business associates. He is survived by his parents, David and Sylvia Hultberg of Berrydale; his brother, John Hultberg of Berrydale; four sisters, Julie Bell and her husband, James Willie, of Pace, Linda Heaviland and her husband, Timothy James, of Winder, Ga., Jean Roberts and her husband, Eric, of Bremen, Ga., and Diana Hultberg of Wilmington, Del.; 11 nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; and his very dear friend, Clarice Wolfe Simmons.
Active pallbearers are James Willie Bell, James Brandon Bell, Timothy Heaviland, Eric Roberts, Scott Sowell, and Earl Hall.
Honorary pallbearers are Bro. Glen King, Bro. Wiley, Bro. Bennett, and Bro. Wilbur Hawkins.

Sharon Lee McCay
JAY, Fla. – Sharon Lee McCay, 48, of Jay passed away June 13. Funeral services were held at graveside on Friday, June 17 at Cobbtown Holiness Church Cemetery with Father Tom Koyickal and Bro. Tim Floyd officiating. The family received friends Friday until service time.
Mrs. McCay was born May 4, 1957. She was a longtime resident of Jay. She is survived by her mother, Joan M. Reed; her daughter, Erin Lee McCay; her son, Eric Robert McCurdy of Pace; three grandchildren, Dakota L. McCay of Jay, and Destiny and Zachary McCurdy of Pace; four sisters, Kelly Lewis of Jay, Debbie Simmons and her husband, Ricky, and Bobby Grissett and her husband, Ricky, both of Brewton, and Cheryl Palmer and her husband, Kimmy, of Milton, Fla.; two brothers, Thomas P. Reed and his wife, Tina, of Prattville, and Timmy G. Reed and his wife, Pam, of Milton; five nieces, Bonnie, Krystal, Ashley, Laura, and Tamara; and five nephews, Shaun, Casey, Robert, Kevin, and Richard.
Pallbearers were Joey Williamson, Ricky Simmons, Cameron Copeland, Eddie Hall, D.J. Gorum, and Stanley Simmons. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Floyd and Kimmy Palmer.

Helen R. Andrianos
BERRYDALE, Fla. – Ms. Helen R. Andrianos, 64, of Berrydale passed away June 15. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 19 at Jay United Methodist Church with Rev. Virginia Beckham officiating. Graveside services followed at Walling Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday until funeral time.
Ms. Andrianos has been a resident of Berrydale for the last 13 years. She loved to fish and was a very loving mother, grandmother, and companion. She is survived by her special companion, Carlton Stewart of Berrydale; her daughter, Jennifer Weaver and her husband, Adam, of Berrydale; two brothers, Sonny Pitman and his wife, Peggy, of Malone, Fla., and Gordon Pitman and his wife, Linda Gail, of Pace; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Jessy Weaver.
Pallbearers were Rodney Daniels, Doug Waters, Jim Hammond, Jamie Hammond, and Chris Davis.

Dewey Talmadge Blackman
JAY, Fla. – Dewey Talmadge Blackman, 68, of Jay and the Brownsdale Community, passed away June 15. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18 at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. John F. Edwards and Rev. George McClure officiating. Graveside services followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Blackman was born in Daleville on February 13, 1937. He had resided in Jay for the past 67 years and was an active member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother; and will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Blackman retired from the state of Florida, where he worked as a chemist for 39 years at the Jay Research Center, formerly known as the West Florida Experiment Station. He had a special love for gardening, traveling, and working in his yard. He was known as "T-Bo" by some of his closest friends and "Ping Pa" by his grandchildren. He was the oldest child of Dewey Stephen Blackman and Wavie Iola Blackman Salter. His stepfather was Floyd Salter. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Luverne Blackman, his parents, and his stepfather. He is survived by his children, Stan Blackman and his wife, Belinda, and Ken Blackman, both of Brownsdale; and Greg Blackman and his wife, Ginger, of Mt. Carmel; two grandchildren, Robin Nicole Blackman of Brownsdale, and Caleb Gregory Blackman of Mt. Carmel; two sisters, Dean McGee and her husband, Jerry, of Brownsdale, and Hilday Williamson and her husband, Larry, of East Brewton.
Active pallbearers were Joe Max Linzy, Chad Nowling, Bart Hendricks, Mark Hendricks, Chad Arrant, and Tony Gomillion. Honorary pallbearers were the Adult Sunday School Class of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
Doris Daughtry McGhee
ATMORE – Mrs. Doris Daughtry McGhee, 57, of Atmore passed away Thursday, June 16 at a local hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, June 20 at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Fr. Tim Klopfenstein and Bro. Ray Ward officiating. Graveside services followed in the Judson/Creek Indian Cemetery.
Mrs. McGhee was a native of Atmore and a resident there for most of her life. She was a member of St. Anna's Episcopal Church; she helped found and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Atmore Chapter of the VFW; and she was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Inez Daughtry. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Lawrence McGhee of Atmore; two sons, Robbie McGhee and Daniel McGhee and his wife, Jaime, both of Atmore; a foster daughter, Denise Curly of Atmore; a stepdaughter, Shawn Wells of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; nine brothers, Houston Daughtry of Atmore, Charles Daughtry of Atlanta, Benny McGhee of Atmore, Franklin Jackson of Texas, Jimmy Wayne Carlton of Atmore, Clarence Carlton of Atmore, Billy Joe Carlton of Atmore, Johnny Carlton of Atmore, and Tommy Carlton of Bay Minette; four sisters, Emily Owens of Monroeville, Ellen O'Barr of Poarch, Essie Lee Wilkins of Pensacola, and Pat White of Atmore; four grandchildren, Brice McGhee, Xan McGhee, Daughtry McGhee, and Thursa Griffey; and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

Ruby B. Wiggins
ATMORE – Mrs. Ruby B. Wiggins, 87, of Atmore passed away Friday, June 17. Funeral services were held Monday, June 20, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gladyn Mothershed officiating. Graveside services followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday night at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wiggins was a homemaker, born in Brewton on June 13 to the late James Earl and Mary Ann Godwin Cheatham. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Wiggins; a daughter, Opal Greenwood; a great-grandson, Matthew Baisden; a son-in-law, Jerry Kircharr; a granddaughter-in-law, Tiffany Kircharr; and two sisters, Johnnie Allen and Annie Ruth Brewton. She is survived by two sons, Hugh Norman Wiggins of Crystal River, Fla., and Horace Eugene Wiggins of Killeen, Texas; two daughters, Mary Kircharr and Andrea Etheridge, both of Atmore; one sister, Katie Lee Mauney of Stock Bridge, Ga.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Gussie S. Wilson
ATMORE – Mrs. Gussie S. Wilson, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 14 in Atmore. Funeral services were held Friday, June 17 at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Gladyn Mothershed and Rev. Mike Grindle officiating. Graveside services followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday, June 16 at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilson was a native of Nokomis, and a lifelong resident of Atmore. She loved gardening and fishing, was President of the Atmore Friendship Club, an avid bowler, volunteered at the nursing home and hospital and attended Westside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Floyd Wilson, Sr. She is survived by two sons, Charles D. Wilson and his wife, Jenny, of Belle Vista, Ark., and Floyd Wilson, Jr., and his wife, Beth, of Atmore; her daughter, Esther Dortch and her husband, Duane, of Bratt; a brother, Joe Sanders of Flomaton; a sister, Ruby Downey of Defuniak Springs, Fla.; four grandchildren, Cheryl Champion, Lori Curran, Angela Rowell, and Jeremy Dortch, and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Randy Rowell, Johnny Burkett, Jack Sharpless, Rodney Owens, Wesley Hughes, and Alvin Owens. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Friendship Club, Regina Gohagin, Marie Owens, Ann Howell, Geneva Wearren, Alma Myles, Jean Myrick, Merle Bishop, and Joann Dailey.
James Cecil McElhaney, Sr.
ATMORE – Mr. James Cecil McElhaney, Sr., 87, of Bratt passed away Sunday, June 19 at Atmore Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22 at Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church at 10 a.m. The family received friends Tuesday at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Born on September 28, 1917, Cecil was the son of Thomas Walter and Francis Althene McElhaney. He was proud to have served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941-45. In 1962, Cecil's dedication to his work as a farmer won his family the title of "Farm Family of the Year", and in 1984 he was presented with an award for "Outstanding Service to Rural Escambia County". Cecil was a trustee of Godwin Cemetery for 30 years and was formerly a director of the Escambia County Farm Bureau. Known for his infectious charisma and craft for story-telling, Cecil filled the lives of many with love and admiration. Cecil loved the Atlanta Braves, the pecan harvest, and fishing; but the joy of his life was his family, which he constantly declared was "the best in the United States".
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mable McElhaney; three daughters, Betty McDill and her husband, Jim, Sharon Bryan and her husband, Bill, and Vickie Cook and her husband, Tim; two sons, Jimmy McElhaney and his wife, Judi, and Jerry McElhaney and his wife, Gleda; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are his grandsons: John McDill, Jonathan Bryan, Joshua McElhaney, Chris McElhaney, Jordan Cook, Adam Dawe, Ricky Payne, and Derek Townley. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Norris, Douglas Morgan, David Gibson, David Johnson, Jack Stewart, John McCall, Roy Glenn Ward, and Lawrence Cooper.

James Earl Jordan
BREWTON – Mr. James Earl "Stringbean" Jordan, 55, of Atmore passed away Sunday, June 19 at D.W. McMillan Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 25 at Jones Street Holiness Church in Atmore with Bishop Willie L. Williams officiating. His remains will be cremated. The family will receive friends Friday, June 24 from 1-8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Jordan was a native of Greenville and a resident of Atmore for many years. He was employed with the Escambia County Board of Education as a bus driver for 18 years. He was preceded in death by his father, James Williams; his mother, Dorothy Jordan; his grandfather, Wilmer Jordan; and his grandmother, Adell Hubert Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Edwina A. Jordan of Atmore; four sons, Andre L. Armstrong and Marvin L. Armstrong and his wife, Mujaana, both of Albron, Mich., and Domonique S. Jordan and Da'Vonte M. Jordan, both of Atmore; two sisters, Evelyn Bowen of Montgomery and Debra Harris of Atmore; two brothers, Daron Bowen of Miami, and Georgory Bowen and his wife, Shasta, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Ellen Dasher Britt
BAY MINETTE – Mrs. Ellen "Elaine" Dasher Britt, 50, of Bay Minette passed away Sunday, June 19, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22 at 2 p.m. at the Full Power Holiness Church with Bro. Charles Lee and Bro. Joe Welch officiating. Graveside services will follow at Guy's Chapel Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Britt was born March 13, 1955 in Pahookie, Fla. She was preceded in death by one son, John Glenn Britt; two brothers, William Eugene Whitaker and Bobbie O'Neal Dasher; two sisters, Donna Jean Dasher and Glenda Dale Batten; and her mother, Ellen Marie Dasher. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Rev. Johnny Ray Britt of Bay Minette; two sons, Michael Britt and his wife, Kimberly, of Frisco City, and Shannon Britt of Rabun; her devoted niece and nephew, Flora Jean Powell and Derek Dasher; seven grandchildren, John, Jacob, Joshua, Brianna, Jordan, Justin, and Andrew; her father, Glynn Dasher, Sr., and his wife; one brother, Glynn Dasher and his wife, Marylou, of Serverville, Tenn.; two sisters, Annette and Vel Ramirez of Ruskin, Fla., and Evelyn Greene of Bonifay, Fla.
