Poarch serves up volleyball league

Poarch Creek Indian Co-Ed Volleyball has been in full swing for several weeks now.
Five teams are participating in the league. Two come from local businesses, while three are teams made up of locals looking to have a good time.
First National Bank of Atmore's team includes Lance Blackburn, Mike Johns, Cathy Johns, Dale Hurst, Lee Dabbs, James Harris, Jocelyn Ward, Carrie Walker, Reco Crayton, Shakita Cox, Kendi Pelot, Jason Kirby, Mark Clayton, and Nana Day.
The Spikers, the prohibitive favorite in the league, are comprised of Billy Colvin, Daisy Colvin, D.B. Richardson, Ross Terry, Jamie Brooks, Darlene Brooks, and Dewayne Colvin.
M.U.D. (The Mighty Ugly Ducklings) is captained by Jason Rackard. Their team consists of Rowdy Boyette, Meagan Pickern, Stephanie Covan, Savilla McGhee, Sharlie Woods, Dana Pickern, John McAnally, Daniel Alaniez, Rackard, and David McNair.
Alto's team includes Chad Weaver, Jamie Garrett, Johnnie Rodgers, Alvin Paul, Ross Terry, Mike Stone, Blayne Garrett, Tammy Garrett, and Tracy Weaver.
A roster was not available for the Misfits.
Five games were played this week at the Poarch gym. The first was a matchup between the Alto team and the Spikers. Alto took the contest in four sets. Winning 25-21, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23.
The next matchup was between M.U.D. and the Misfits. M.U.D. came away with a win in five epic sets, 25-15, 25-22, 24-26, 15-25, and 25-13.
Alto took an easy contest from First National later in the week, winning 25-11, 25-12, and 25-9.
First National saw another setback when they faced the Spikers. The Spikers won handily, 25-8, 25-5, and 25-7.
A matchup between Alto and M.U.D. finished out the week. Alto took home a win in three sets, 25-19, 25-13, and 25-17.
