Man dies in I-65 wreck

A traffic accident on Interstate 65 five miles north of Atmore left one dead, and two people injured last week.
According to a press release from the Alabama Department of Public Safety's Highway Patrol Division in Evergreen, the accident occurred at 12:20 a.m. Thursday at mile marker 52 on Interstate 65.
Gerald Anthony Munday, 34, of Cave Springs, Ga., was killed when a 1997 Cadillac in which he was a passenger ran under the trailer of a 2004 International Tractor Trailer.
The driver of the Cadillac, Robert Ash, 34, of Taylorsville, Ga., was transported to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. The driver of the trailer, Milad A. Knalil, 55, of Fontana, Calif., was transported to Atmore Community Hospital.
Munday was transported to the Department of Forensic Sciences following the crash. The vehicle was taken to David's Paint &Body off Highway 31 North for further investigation.
At press time, the accident was still under investigation by the Alabama State Patrol.
