Anthony Scott Gibbs Jr.
ABBEVILLE, La. – Mr. Anthony Scott Gibbs, Jr., 23, of Atmore passed away Sunday, July 10.
He was a native of Walnut Hill and a resident of Atmore for the past three years. He was a member of Annie Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. He was an employee of Seacor Marine. He achieved the rank of Life Scout, Chapter Chief of the Brotherhood Order of the Arrow, and Chapter Chief of the Oschambos Chapter in Order of the Arrow.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Lee Gibbs, Sr. He is survived by his father, Anthony Scott Gibbs, Sr. and his mother, Gowanda Yvonne Le Fluer Gibbs of Atmore; his wife, Laura Helton Gibbs of Atmore; his son, Austin Taylor Gibbs of Atmore; his grandmother, Mary F. Gibbs of Monroeville; his brother, Eric Shawn Gibbs and his wife, Nicole, of Norfolk, Va.; and his sister, Amanda Lynn Gibbs of Davisville, Fla.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 15 at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. George McClue and Rev. Bill Watts officiating. Graveside services followed at the Canoe Freewill Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday, July 14, at Eastside Chapel.
Pallbearers were Bill Fountain, Douglas Heath Phillips, Steven Cole, Tim Gibbs, Chris Gibbs, and Jack Beck.
Murray Phillips
BALDWIN COUNTY – Mr. Murray Phillips, 52, of Little River passed away Sunday, July 17.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Little River, a member of the Baldwin County Rescue Squad, the Little River Hunting Club, an employee of Alabama River Pulp, and a former employee with International Paper for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Phillips of Little River; two sons, Neal Phillips and his wife, Lori, of Hampton, Va., and Brian Phillips and his wife, Jessica, of Cary, N.C.; his daughter, Maggie Lynn Phillips of Little River; five brothers, Donald Ray Phillips of Semirah Springs, Frank Phillips of Tuscaloosa, Bill Phillips of Little River, Jerry Phillips of Cullman, and Jimmy Phillips of Booneville; three sisters, Erenestine Roberts of Uriah, Judy Peak of Bay Minette, and Myrtle Daszchek of Elberta; and his granddaughter, Catherine Phillips of Hampton, Va.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 22, at the Little River Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne McMillan and Rev. Cornelius Phillips officiating. Graveside services followed at Phillips Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Weaver, Joel Weaver, David Peak, Wyndel Holder, Dennis Saucer, and Ronnie Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Dean, Robbie Dean, and Chad Gay.

Essie Digman Ziglar
ATMORE – Mrs. Essie Digman Ziglar, 84, of Atmore passed away Sunday, July 17, at her residence. She was a homemaker, born in Robinsonville on August 17, 1920 to the late James Elbert and Margaret Naomi Singleton Digman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Xury David Ziglar. She is survived by three sons, Bobby Glenn Ziglar and his wife, Linda, of Gulf Shores, Clark David Ziglar, Sr., and his wife, Iris, of Bratt, and Max Autry Ziglar and his wife, Glenda, of Robinsonville; one daughter, Sandra Z. Wilson and her husband, Philip, of Robinsonville; one brother, James P. Digman of Robinsonville; two sisters, Edna Earl Lambert of Nokomis and Jean Lambert of Tillman's Corner; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Willis, Rev. Kevin Fralick, and Rev. Charles Ellis officiating. Graveside services will follow in Pine Level Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, July 19, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be David Ziglar, Jamie Ziglar, Chad McMurphy, Larry Gross, Doug Bradford, Eddie Barnett, David Miles, and Matt Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Edwards, Bernie Edwards, Miles Gagner, Brett Gagner, Russell Nelson,, Chris Norton, and Daryl Cox.

PENSACOLA – Mr. Larry Jenkins, 47, of Brewton, passed away Wednesday, July 20, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Turner Funeral Chapel.
