An Atmore teenager was shaken up Monday afternoon after being robbed while working the cash register at Video World.
Sandy Booth told Atmore Police Department officers that she was inside the video store's front office, which is located at 207 South Trammell Street, when a black male entered at approximately 6:30 p.m. wearing a bandanna covering his face from his nose down, demanding the money from the cash register. Booth cooperated and handed an undisclosed amount of money over to the suspect.
Sandy was able to escape the robbery unharmed and ran to Burger King where the police were notified.
Marie added that this is the first robbery since taking over the store last year.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7-inch black male with corn-rowed hair. He was wearing a white tank top and blue jeans.
In the near future, Marie said she plans on having a surveillance system installed to hopefully prevent future robberies.
If anyone has any information on this case you are asked to contact the Atmore Police Department at 368-9141.
