The Escambia County Blue Devils are pulling triple-duty this week.
Not only are they still working toward learning the offense, they must also prepare for a jamboree with Georgiana High School to be held this Friday night at 7 p.m.
And as if that weren't enough, the Blue Devils also have their official season opener with T.R. Miller next week still looming.
Head coach Kyle Davis was in Tuscaloosa Tuesday and could not be reached for comment, but in earlier reports he outlined his plan for the game.
Sources also told the Advance the Blue Devils would play their starters for the first quarter only during the game, then spend the rest of the game giving their backups a chance to shine. The game will not count on either team's records.
The Advance will be in Georgiana Friday for the first game of the Kyle Davis era. Look for full coverage in upcoming issues, as well as the Blue Devils' preparations for archrival T.R. Miller next week.
