An extra set of school bells rang throughout Escambia County Monday morning as Escambia Academy began the new school year.
Headmaster Judy Branum said she is extremely pleased at how the year started without a hitch.
Nine new teachers began their first days at Escambia Academy Monday as well in addition to 250 students. Branum said building relationships with the new faculty members and students and building on the relationship already built with returning students are some things she anticipates each year.
Branum said schedule changes are the norm for the beginning of each school year in most schools, but was happy to report there weren't many scheduling conflicts this year.
Monday night, the school's booster club held a back-to-school bash to ring in the new school year.
Looking ahead to what she believes will be a wonderful year at Escambia Academy; Branum added that there is some cosmetic work still to be done to the school's facility.
Also in store for EA this school year is its accreditation.
