Willie Matthews
ATMORE – Mr. Willie Matthews, 85, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005 at his residence in Atmore, AL. Turner Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Fred Simpson
CENTURY – Mr. Fred Simpson, 61, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2005 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL. He was a resident of Century, FL. Viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 23, 2005 from noon to 6 p.m. at Christian Memorial Chapel. Family hour will be held one hour prior to the funeral at noon on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Century Cemetery in Century, FL. Christian Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Gertrude L. Robinson
STOCKTON – Mrs. Gertrude L. Robinson, 98, passed away on Sept. 13, 2005. Mrs. Robinson was born Jan. 22, 1907 to the late Tom and Eldorado Branch. She gave her life to Christ and united with Greater St. John Baptist Church of Stockton, AL at an early age. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Bro. Joseph Robinson, Sr., who preceded her in death, along with her daughter Jessina Hutchins; two brothers, Wilmer Branch, Tom Branch, Jr.; grandson Reginald Bonds; a devoted daughter-in-law, Paulette Robinson. Mrs. Robinson was a faithful member of Greater St. John Baptist Church until her health began to decline.
Her memories will always be cherished by her loving children; Catherine Smith of Youngstown, OH; Joseph Robinson, Jr. (Gwendolyn Kidd – special friend; Mary Bonds of Gulfport, MS; Richard Robinson of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Ruth Hasting of Pittsburgh, PA; twenty loving grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; two special friends, Ella Mayes and Dora Henry; and also a special group of friends from the Vaughn Senior Citizen Center. Funeral Services were held, Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005 at Greater St. John Baptist Church in Stockton, AL. Burial followed at Robinson Cemetery in Stockton.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons and family and friends were flower bearers. Arrangements were entrusted to Christian Memorial Funeral Home, Atmore.
