A fight Wednesday afternoon in Atmore left one man injured, according to reports from the Atmore Police Department.
Gary Hetherington, 23, of Atmore suffered a severe cut to his forehead after an argument with a black male around 6:08 p.m. It is unknown where the argument occurred, but Atmore Police Department officers located Hetherington on Martin Luther King Drive.
"The medics called and stated that a black male and him (Hetherington) had gotten into an argument," APD chief Jason Dean said. "They stated that a subject pulled a knife and he was cut on the forehead. Undoubtedly, they were involved in a physical confrontation at which time the black male pulled an unknown type of weapon, possibly a knife, and struck Mr. Hetherington."
Hetherington was transported to Atmore Community Hospital by ambulance to be treated for his injuries.
No arrests have been made, but the case is still under investigation.
"We do have a suspect," Dean said. "We're investigating this incident and looking into what happened. We don't know what caused the confrontation or what it started over."
