Bryan Duwayne Gill
RABUN – Mr. Bryan Duwayne Gill, 39, passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 at a Birmingham hospital.
Mr. Gill was a native and lifetime resident of Rabun and attended the New Testament Holiness Church. His parents, Charlie and Margutte Gill, preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife, Beth Gill of Rabun; his son, Brady Gill of Rabun; his stepson, Clifton Furney of Ft. Walton, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Candi Renfroe of Milton, Fla., Carrie Powell of Cantonment, Fla., and Casey Furney of Pace, Fla.; two grandchildren, Hunter and Lily Powell; two brothers, Houston (Montez) Gill of Rabun and Terry (Fern) Gill of Bay Minette; three sisters, Jeanette (Earl) Bryars of Rabun, Margaret (Carl) Stewart of Rabun; and JoAnn (Larry) DeWise of Megargel; his Uncle, Ben Andrews of Mobile and his Aunt, Marie R. Jordan of Rabun.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Wilson and Sister Marie Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Bryars-McGill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: Keith Ray Bryars, Tim Bryars, Jason Bryars, Chris Gill, Kevin Gill, Charlie Stewart, Stephen Aplin and Zach Showers.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Clayton Melvin Hadley
ATMORE – Mr. Clayton Melvin Hadley, 76 of Atmore, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005 at his residence. He was a truck driver, born in Rabun on July 8, 1929 to the late Clayton McVaniel and Carrie McDowell Hadley.
His parents, two brothers, Marvin Hadley and Rayford Hadley, and a son-in-law, Thomas F. Boatwright, precede him in death.
Survivors are: his lifelong, loving companion, Lottie Caraway of Atmore; three sons, Stephen Hadley and wife Gail, Marty Hadley and wife, Joyce, Michael Hadley and wife, Patsy all of Perdido; three daughters, Rhonda Bethea and husband, Michael of Perdido, Diane Boatwright of Atmore, Sharron Shiver and husband, Jimmy of Perdido; four step-children: Suzanna Caraway, Suzanne Earle, Jeffery Caraway, and Nancy Stacey; twenty grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren; one brother; Thomas DeVern Hadley and wife, Jeanette of Rabon and one sister Sabrina White of Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Guy's Chapel Church in Rabon with Bro. James Peacock and Sister Thursia Long officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Jimmy Dale Shiver, Timothy Shiver, Tom Boatwright, Kevin Bryars, Daniel Bryars and Clayton Hadley. Honorary were: Charlie Hadley, Clay Shiver, Keith Hadley and Toby Boatwright. Johnson – Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
Willard Crook, Sr.
BAY MINETTE – Mr. Willard Lee (Pete) Crook, 65 passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at his residence. He was a native of Bay Minette. Crook was born on April 11, 1940 to the late Samuel Crook and Minnie Will. He was employed at Furniture Mart of Bay Minette for many years.
He was preceded in death by a loving sister Joyce Killings and a loving brother, Nathaniel Crook, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory by a loving wife, Sadie M. Crook; stepmother, Elizah Crook; eight children, Daphne (Clarence) Gandy, Troy (Jackie) Crook, Gloria Crook, Willard Crook, Jr., Detra (J.C.) Albritton, Donta (Meletha) Crook, Yvonne (Anthony) Pogue, and Ashley Crook, all of Bay Minette; four sisters, Voncille Crook, Sandra Thigpen, Wanda (Claude) Sanders, Orlene (Samuel) Jones; one brother, Jerry (Annie) Crook; three sisters-in-law, Georgia Mims, Annie Brown and Mary Adams; Two brothers-in-law, Samuel Adams and George Adams; twenty-two grandchildren, four devoted, Jaylen Crook, Tevarious Crook, Titiana Crook and Roy Jones, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, one especially loving and devoted daughter-in-law, Jackie (Thomas) Crook; a host of aunts and uncles; two devoted aunts, Dorthy (Sweet) Robinson and Rosetta Clopton (deceased). He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and cousins; with three devoted cousins, Gloria Clopton, Zeno Green, Jr. and Patricia Green; two devoted friends, John Cox, Jr. and Spencer (Juanita) Bercant.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005 at noon at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Bromley, Ala. Burial followed in Sunrise Cemetery in Bay Minette.
Pallbearers were: Edward Andrews, Ronald Curry, Roy Curry, Zeno Green, Jr., Earnest Green, Spencer Berants, Thaddeus Palmer, Anthony Pange, Michailo Adams and Steven Adams. Flower girls were his nieces and friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to Robinson Christian Memorial Funeral Home in Atmore.
Irene Bryant
STOCKTON – Mrs. Irene Bryant, 75, died on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005 at her residence. She was a native of Chapman and was a resident of Stockton for many years.
She was a member of Zion Fountain A.M.E. Zion Church and was a housekeeper.
Her husband, Cornelius Bryant, Sr. and her parents, Ready and Mandy Poole Brady, precede her in death.
She is survived by: eight daughters, Rose Edwards, Sally Earl, Elnora (Maurice) Washington, Cinderella (Kenneth) Brooks, Karen Reynolds, Beverly Evans, Rhonda Evans and Andrea Evans all of Stockton; four sons, Cornelius Bryant, Jr, Curtis (Mary) Bryant, Milton (Jeanette) Bryant and Terrance Bryant of Stockton; three sisters, Lula Mae McWilliams of Rochester, N. Y., Lucille (William) Hasley of Georgiana and Flozell Sharp of Montgomery; twenty-nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 at Zion Fountain A. M. E. Zion Church in Stockton with Rev. r. L. Dockery officiating. Burial followed at Robinson Cemetery in Stockton. Turner Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Tiffany LaNivea Ezell
NEW YORK – Miss. Tiffany LaNivea Ezell, 14, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at Tod Children's Hospital. She was a resident of Utica, N.Y.
Miss. Ezell attended New Bethel Baptist Church and was a member of Needles
Eye Christian Center. She attended Summit Academy, where she played an active role in music, basketball and she was a cheer guard for the cheerleaders.
Her grandmother, Priscilla McQuiter, precedes her in death.
Her survivors include: her father, Bobby E. Ezell and her mother, Alice L. Ezell, both of Utica, N.Y.; one brother, Bobby E. Ezell, Jr. of Warren, Ohio; one sister, Michelle (Antwan) Ezell of Youngstown, Ohio; grandparents, Eddie and Alberta Ezell, Elnora Ezell and Myrtis (Bessie) Cilliams all of Bay Minette; ten aunts; one aunt, Mrs. Jerridine Perryman of Atmore; five uncles, two nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 4,2005 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Youngstown, Ohio with Rev. L. Simon and Rev. Lonnie Simon officiating. Burial followed in Belmont Park Cemetery in N. Y.
