Man shot in home invasion

The Atmore Police Department is still investigating a shooting that occurred last Thursday night during a home invasion.
According to police officials, witnesses on the scene of the Nov. 10 shooting said four suspects entered the home of Kenyada M. Wiggins, 31, located at 238 Liberty Street through the back door. Once inside, the suspects, which were armed with a handgun, forced Wiggins into the back of his home and fired multiple shots into his lower abdomen.
Upon arrival, officers entered the home and found Wiggins lying on the floor covered in blood. Paramedics with Kelley's Ambulance Service responded and immediately transported Wiggins to Atmore Community Hospital where he was later transported by to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. by Life Flight.
The case is currently under investigation by Atmore Police Department investigators. If anyone has any information regarding this case, you are asked to contact APD at 368-9141.
