The Escambia County Blue Devils struggles continued Tuesday night at home against the Flomaton Hurricanes. With the 6-0 loss against Flomaton, Big Blue continued its losing streak. They have not won a game in April, but head coach Keith Nall said he is proud of the effort his guys play with.
"We played well, but they hit the ball and we didn't," Nall said. "We just can't put that full game together. Either we hit well and play poor defense, or we play great defense and just can't hit the ball."
Kevin Greene took the loss for the Blue Devils, pitching six innings, allowing four runs on five hits. He struck out three batters and walked two.
At the plate for ECHS Anthony Matthews and Jonathon McNeil were 1-for-3 and Mitchell Brown was 1-for-2 with a double.
The ECHS "B" team dropped its game 4-3 to the Hurricanes. Maurice White and Hunter Milliken were 1-for-3. Nico Johnson was 1-for-2 and Garrett Walley was 2-for-2.
Milliken went five innings on the mound, allowing four runs on seven hits. He struck out four batters and walked three.
