Kalea Dell Brown
JAY – Kalea Dell Brown, age 20 of Jay, Fla., died Saturday, April 15, 2006 in Jay, Fla. Kalea was born March 16, 2006. She was a special and loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and cousin. She truly touched all of our lives. We will miss her always.
Her great-grandparents, Desmond and Vera Boutwell, Arthur and Louise Brown and Joseph Emmons, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her parents, Steve and Tami Brown; brothers, Tyler and Hunter Brown; grandparents, Roger and Debbie Boutwell, Earlene Henderson, Doris and Winston Brown; great-grandparents Olean Emmons, Wheeler and Audrey Cook and Mavis Mauldin; a special grandparent, Annie Lou Sims; a special friend Sandy Wilson and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Jay Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Carnley officiating. Burial followed in the Jay City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Blake Boutwell, Hank Campbell, Joe Campbell and Heath Marshall. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Lowery, J. D. Diamond and Doyle Marshall.
Zykhael Jykyem Frye
ATMORE – Infant Zykhael Jykyem Frye, four days old, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 at USA Children's and Women's Hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Annie D. Frye of Atmore; his father, Ashford Rivers of Atmore; three sisters, Qyteria Frye, Jiesha Frye and Zykeria Frye, all of Atmore; one brother, Montray Frye of Atmore and grandparents, Cassie and Willie Nicholas of Atmore.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Stallworth Cemetery in Atmore. Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of all arrangements
Willie George Green
PERDIDO – Mr. Willie George Green, age 81 of Perdido, died Sunday, April 16, 2006 at Mentrose Bay Health Care. he was a native and a resident of Perdido for many years.
He had attended school in Baldwin County and was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Mary Walker Green.
He is survived by three daughters, Willie Mae Shumakeof Hempstead, N.Y., Gwen (Quintin) Frye of Atmore and Tonya (Rodney) Grace of Bay Minette; one son, Nathenal (Alice) McKinnet of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. from St. Thomas AME Zion Church in Perdido with the Rev. Willie Wright officiating.
Burial followed at Mt. Shiloh Cemetery in Nokomis. Turner Funeral HChapel was in charge of all arrangements.
Curtis E. Purvis
ATMORE – Mr. Curtis E. Purvis, age 80 of Atmore, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 in Atmore. He was a retired mail carrier with the U.S. Post Office and was born in Escambia County, Ala., on March 4, 1926 to the late Richard D. and Susie Hardee Purvis.
A daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Alday, precedes him in death. Survivors are his wife, Sarah Millie Purvis of Atmore; two grandchildren, Amanda Caminas Finch of Citronelle and Natalie Horton of Hawaii; three great-grandchildren, Juston Caminas, Tony Caminas and Tatum Horton; one brother, Dolphia A. Purvis of Pensacola, Fla., and one sister, Maebelle Nall of Saraland.
Services were held on Monday, April 17, 2006 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C.L. Langford officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.
Family received friends Monday at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel prior to the service. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
Rose Marie Gentry
MILTON – Rose Marie Gentry, age 65, of Milton, Fla., died on April 12, 2006. She was a former resident of Jay, Fla., and a member of the Poarch Creek Indian Tribe. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Her parents, William Walker and Rosa Lee Jackson, preceded her in death as well as her daughter, Tammy Jane Gentry, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jack Gentry; sons, Tim (Khaleen) Gentry of Milton, Steve Wade Gentry of Milton, and John (Jaime) Gentry of Pace, Fla.; daughter, Donna Marie Mabine of Milton; sister, Betty Gentry of Walnut Hill, Fla.; ten grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation was held on Friday, April 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church in Escambia County, Fla., with Pastor Ed McMillian officiating.
The family would like to thank Jay Hospital and staff and Dr. C. David Smith and staff. Jay Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
