The Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross will be conducting training for current instructors to become certified to teach CPR/AED at Kelley's Ambulance Service on May 17 beginning at 10 a.m.
"These classes are in response to the launch of the newly revised first aid and CPR/AED requirements," Paula Tillman with the Alabama Red Cross chapter said. "The new guidelines mean all American Red Cross health and safety training programs are updated with the most advanced science in injury prevention and care."
The revisions to the first aid and CPR/AED courses are from the results of the latest scientific research. Every five years, international organizations and experts in the field of first aid and emergency care come together to review and evaluate the latest data on injury and care. The results of this scientific review led to the production of the "2005 Guidelines in First Aid" and the "American Red Cross 2005 Guidelines for Emergency Care and Education".
To register for classes and for more information contact the Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter at (251) 436-7940.
