Flames blank Challengers

The Atmore Utilities Flames ignited for four runs in the first inning of their May 15 win over the Pepsi Challengers in Atmore Babe Ruth Fast Pitch Softball 13-16 year olds action. The Flames added one more run in the third inning to seal a 5-0 win.
Crystal Rolin, Latesha Lee, Brooke Bell and Minika Smith each scored one run each in the first inning for the Flames. Bell added another run scored in the third.
Rolin was 2-for-2 in the game with one triple and one double. Smith was also 2-for-2 with two doubles.
Raven Culliver grabbed the Challengers only hit in the first inning. Leandra Corey, Miranda Comalander, Deidre Crenshaw and Melissa Moore all had one walk at the plate.
10-12 year olds division
Johnson Ford Rangers 15 – SAV Sluggers 11
The Rangers out slugged the Sluggers May 15 in the only game in the 10-12 year olds division. They opened the game with 14 runs in the first two innings. Chelsey Ramer led the team with three runs scored. Jasmine Ireland, Kendra Beachey and Breann Rolin each contributed two runs scored for the game.
Page Lancaster, Shyla Godwin, Allie Brooks, Shelly Mothershed, Courtney Weaver and Skyla Ryals added one run scored.
For the Sluggers, Lacie Flowers, Cha'Nae Lyles, Ysuna Staples and Amy Morris each scored two runs and Davisha Johnson, Leslie Smith and Brooke McGhee crossed the plate once.
6-9 year olds division
Hendrix's Tractor Balers 10 – David's Catfish Marlins 7
The late game of the 6-9 year olds division on May 15 was decided in the fourth inning. Each team scored two runs in each of the first two innings and the Balers erupted with a six-run fourth inning that the Marlins could not counter.
Cierra Caraway, Mariah Albritton and Lauren Stacey each scored two runs in the game. Grayson Emmons, Autumn Albritton, Jennifer Weaver and Amanda Donald added one run scored for the Balers.
Darby Randolph and Hannah Boothe each scored two runs for the Marlins and Brooke Presley, Kaylee Cox and Taylor West crossed the plate once in the game.
Angela's &Company Nailers 9 – First National Bank &Trust Magnolias 8
The first game of the night for the 6-9 year olds division May 15 pitted the Nailers against the Magnolias and the Nailers clawed their way to a tight victory.
Peyton Snider and Auburn Bailey scored two runs each for the Nailers and Allison Woods, Victoria Sawyer, Taylor Hill, Alexis Crenshaw and Anna Catherine Sasser each scored one run.
For the Magnolias, Claire Ahem and Y-Netta Craft scored two runs each. Madison Matthews, Justice Poole, Penny Banda and Audrey Byrd contributed one run scored
