James Earl Williams Sr
ATMORE – Brother James Earl Williams closed his eyes on Friday morning, May 26, 2006 at 12:40 a.m. at Atmore Nursing Care Center.
He was born in Freemanville on March 28, 1950 to the late Wilson and Geneva Williams. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Deborah Burley from this union two children were born, Dorothea Renae Wilkson and James Earl Williams, Jr.
He confessed Christ while confined in Mobile Infirmary Hospital and united with Deliverance Ministries of Jesus Christ Church.
We rejoice in our childhood memories of our brother. One brother, Bobby Williams, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two children, Dorothea and James; six sisters, Creola (Levarn) Bryant, Jeanette Salter, Wilcia (Verbin) Kemp, Margaret (Sam) Hudson, all of Atmore, Marilyn (Jies) Autrey of Mobile and Jill (Jonathan) Layton of Grandbury, Texas; four brothers, Ryland Williams of Akron, Ohio, Larry Williams of Los Angeles, Calif., Larry Brooks (Mary) and Wilson Williams, III of Atmore; a devoted friend, Maxine Stiles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ with Dr. Hattie Bishop officiating. Christian Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Glenn Hall
ENON – Mr. Glenn Hall, 58 of Enon, Fla., passed away Friday, May 26, 2006 in a Pensacola, Fla.
Hall was a native of Walnut Hill, Fla., but had resided in Jay, Fla., for many years. He was retired from the United States Army having served 21 years with a tour of duty in Vietnam and earning numerous medals and ribbons. After retiring from the service, Mr. Hall worked a number of years for G.B. "Boots" Smith in Jay and Flomaton and for Weiser Security. His parents, Edison Hall and Ethel Goodale Horton, precede him in death.
Survivors include: two sisters, Barbara (Mike) Johns of Jay, Fla., and Mary (Terry) Freeman of Walnut Hill, Fla.; four brothers, Larry (Sue) Horton of Jay, Fla., Charles Hall of Alabama, John and Joe Hall of Walnut Hill, Fla.; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Sunday, May 28, 2006 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral Services were held at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, May 29, 2006 at 10 a.m. Burial followed at Dry Springs Cemetery with full military honors.
Susie Turk Drew
ESCAMBIA COUNTY – Mrs. Susie Turk Drew, 91, a native of Monroe County and a resident of Escambia County for most of her life, died Friday, May 26, 2006 in a local Health Care Facility.
Her husband, Aubrey Drew, a daughter, Anniece Drew Buck, a grandson, Timothy O'Neal Buck and a great-grandson, Michael Drew Waite, precedes her in death.
Survivors are: two sons, Malcolm Ross (Faye) of Pensacola, Fla., Ralph E. Drew (Carole) of Fairhope; one daughter, Betty Lalak (Joe) of Atmore; one sister, Billy Catherine Middleton of Stapleton; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren.
Family received friends Tuesday evening May 30, 2006 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. A service followed in Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Interment will be Wednesday, May 31, 2006 in McCullough cemetery at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice in Bay Minette. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret Leven Jones
FLOMATON – Mrs. Margaret Leven Jones, 69, passed away Friday, May 26, 2006 in Pensacola, Fla.
Jones was a native of Quitman, Miss., a former resident of Georgiana and a resident of Flomaton for the past 56 years. She attended the Bethel Temple Holiness Church.
Survivors include: her husband, William Rufus Jones of Flomaton; her daughter, Ilene Dukes Cook of Century, Fla.; two grandchildren, Nicole Louise Cook and Robin Leigh Cook both of Century, Fla; a brother, Sherman Glover of Century, Fla; and a sister, Velma Aline Covan of Century, Fla.
Funeral Services were held Monday, May 29, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Bethel Temple Holiness Church with Rev. Ricky Peebles and Rev. John Fillingim officiating. Burial was held Monday, May 29, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Providence Cemetery in Georgiana with Petty Funeral Homes, LLC. directing.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Hayes, Randy Covan, Mike Cook, Matthew Covan, Travis Roberson, Justin Williams, Hank Stinson and Dewey Pinkerton.
Michael Ray Mitchem
PERDIDO – Mr. Michael Ray Mitchem, 47, passed away Monday, May 29, 2006 at a Baldwin County hospital.
Mitchem was a native and life long resident of Perdido. He was improving, residing in a very special group home, and attended the Holiness Church.
Survivors include: his parents, Andrew and Luverne Mitchem of Perdido; two sisters, Vanessa Thomas of Perdido and Nancy Wallace of Bay Minette and three nieces.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart and Bro. Wendell Hadley officiating. Burial will follow at Perdido Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2006 between 5:30 and 10 p.m. in the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Kelvin D. English
FLOMATON – Mr. Kelvin D. English, 36, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2006 in Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Escambia County Florida and resident of Flomaton for many years.
He was employed as a stocker at Piggly Wiggly. His mother, Mary English and a brother, Harry James Ricks, precede him in death.
He is survived by his father, Hosea English; three sisters, Diane English, Andra (Eddie) Polk of Flomaton and Irene English of Century, Fla.; two brothers, Robert (Kenya) English of Pollard and Jackie (Minnie) English of Brewton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Fannie Baptist Church in Flomaton with Rev. Hiram Stanton officiating. Burial will follow in Fannie/Damascus Cemetery in Flomaton. Public viewing will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the chapel. Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
Rose Ewing
CENTURY – Mrs. Rose Ewing, 60 of Century, Fla., died Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Jay Hospital in Jay, Fla. Christian Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Michael Odom
FLOMATON – Michael Odom, 47 of Flomaton recently died at his residence. Turner Funeral Chapel will announce services.
