Peter Amedio Leto
ATMORE – Mr. Peter Amedio Leto, 75 of Atmore, died Saturday, June 3, 2006 in Atmore. He was a manager with Fast Food in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., born on July 19,1930 to the late Tony Phillip and Rita Torano Leto.
Survivors are: his wife, Linda Bass Leto of Atmore; two sons, Robert Leto and David Leto both of Key West, Fla.; one daughter, Angelina Dean of Lumberton, Texas; one sister, Rose Hopey of Clearmont, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Peter, Krystle, Ariana, Helena, Jeffrey, Jonathon, Daniel and Ashlee; two great-grandchildren, Haley Rose and Austin Charles.
Services will be Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 10 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating. Interment will follow in Serenity Gardens. Family received friends Tuesday evening at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
Emma E. Weaver
ATMORE – Mrs. Emma E. Weaver, 83 of Atmore, died Saturday, June 3, 2006 in Monroeville. She was a homemaker, born in Monroe County on April 6, 1923 to the late William F. and Mary Emma Hayles Peavy.
Her husband, Audrey Weaver, precedes her in death. Survivors are: one step-son, Jerry Weaver of Booneville; three step-daughters, Virginia Sharpless of Atmore, Martha Sharpless of Fairhope, and June Luker of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Roland Peavy of Bay Minette, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 10 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Cates officiating. Interment followed in Eliska Cemetery. Family received family and friends Monday, June 5, 2006 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
Velma Carter Bosenberg
ATMORE – Mrs. Velma Carter Bosenberg, 86 of Atmore, died Sunday, June 4, 2006 in Atmore. The Repton native was the daughter of the late Comer Knight and Nancy Brantley Carter.
Bosenberg was a graduate of Escambia County High School and Alabama Polytechnic Institute at Auburn. She retired from the Escambia County, Fla., school system, having taught at Bratt, Beulah, N.B. Cook, and Ernest Ward schools. She was a former member of the Joy Riders and Atmore Garden Club as well as a member of the First Baptist Church.
Her husband, Charles E. Bosenberg, precedes her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Karrick of Atmore; a granddaughter, Nancy Erwin and husband, John of Mobile and a great-grandson John Charles Erwin.
Services will be Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 3 p.m. from First Baptist Church Patterson Chapel with Rev. Horace Stewart of Rome, Ga., and Rev. Arnold Hendrix of Atmore officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Erwin, Stanley Bosenberg, Brad Bosenberg, Gene Fischer, Bob Robertson and Gene Hall. Family received friends, Tuesday evening June 6, 2006 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of all arrangements.
Curtis Lee Forester
ATMORE – Mr. Curtis Lee Forester, 75, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006 in Atmore.
He was a native of Trenton, Ga., and a resident of Atmore for the past 48 years; he was a retired employee with Farmer's Home Administration of Escambia County, Fla., after 40 years as a county supervisor.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marlene U. Forester of Atmore; his son, Daryl Forester of Fultondale; his daughter, Cheryl and Ricky Golson of Bratt, Fla.; five grandchildren, Scott Forester, Ryann Brown, Travis Golson, Shelby Bryan and Ethan Golson; and his great-grandchild, Sarah Brown.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 4, 2006 at 4 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Travis Golson, Ethan Golson, Scott Forester, Heath Bryan, David Brown and Bill Eubanks. Honorary pallbearers were Leonard Wiggins, Lee Roy Wiggins, Jim Van Pelt, Leon Esneul, I. G. Nichols, Paul Killam, Carol Dixon, Dianne Collar and Barbara Dickerson.

CENTURY – Mr. L.C. Phifer, age 77 of Century, Fla., died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Century Care Center. Turner Funeral Chapel will announce services.
