L.C. Phifer
CENTURY – Mr. L.C. Phifer, age 77, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Century Care Center. He was a native of Butler and a resident of Century, Fla., for many years.
He retired from Champion Paper Co. as a machine operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Rosie Phifer; his wife, Janie R. Phifer; sisters Eula Smiley, Lula Moorer and Rosie Lee Franklin; brothers, James Phifer, Peter Phifer and Willie Phifer.
He is survived by his caregiver and niece, Nancy (Dashwood) Riley; two stepsons, Tonie Williams of Mississippi and Leroy Williams of New York; one sister, Addie Reid of Atlanta; brother, Robert (Gladys) Phifer of Boston and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church in Century, Fla., with Rev. Leonard Watson officiating.
Burial followed in Century Cemetery in Century, Fla. Public viewing was held Friday, June 9, 2006 at Turner Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of all arrangements.
Infant Antwan D. Williams
ATMORE – Infant Antwan D. Williams, newborn of Atmore, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at USA Children's and Women's Hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Andria Williams of Atmore; father, Dominque Lee of Atmore; grandmothers, Rosie Williams, Latonya Smith both of Atmore; great grandmothers, Alberta Williams and Gloria Wright both of Atmore; and great-great grandmother, Novella Johnson of Atmore.
Graveside services were held Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 7 p.m. in Stallworth Cemetery with Minister Cynthia Ellis officiating. Burial followed in Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home Chapel directing.
Lt. Charles Elliard
ATMORE – Lt. Charles Elliard, 56 died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services are planned for Thursday, June 15, 2006 with burial following at Stallworth Cemetery. Turner Funeral Chapel will announce services.
