Justice elected chairman of UB Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of United Bancorporation of Alabama, Inc, the holding company of United Bank, recently held its annual meeting to announce new officers and declare a cash dividend to shareholders. William J. Justice was elected Chairman. Justice, president of Greenlawn Pharmacy in Atmore, is a long-time member of the Board of Directors for United Bank.
The announcement of the new Chairman comes as the Board recognizes the service and accomplishments of H. Leon Esneul upon his retirement. Esneul was named as Director Emeritus.
While in session, the Board of Directors declared a cash dividend of fifteen cents 15 cents per share payable on or about July 17, 2006 to stockholders of record as of June 30, 2006.
Officer elections were also held during the annual meeting. New to the Board is J.W. Trawick, of Trawick Construction in Foley. Joining him by re-election are Bob W. Sawyer with Hammer Construction and L. Walter Crim of Central Farm Supply, both of Monroeville. Also re-elected were Dale M. Ash, Controller for Pepsi Bottling Company in Atmore, and Michael R. Andreoli, Partner with Robertson, Andreoli, and Covington in Bay Minette.
David D. Swift, president of Swift Supply of Atmore, was elected as Vice Chairman of the holding company's Board of Directors. Bob Jones, President and CEO of United Bank, will serve in the same capacity for the Board. Tina Brooks will continue her service as Corporate Secretary, Dale Johnson as Assistant Treasurer, and Jamie Lipham, United Bank's Executive Vice President, will serve as Vice President of the Board.
In addition to the elections to the Board of Directors of United Bancorporation of Alabama, Inc, Robert H. Maxwell of Atmore was named Director Emeritus. Maxwell is a retired attorney from Atmore and former member of United Bank's Board of Directors.
