Mustangs douse fire Thursday

The Rotary Club Mustangs came away victorious over the City of Atmore Utilities Flames 7-2 on June 8 in Atmore Babe Ruth Fast Pitch Softball League 13-16 year olds division action.
The Mustangs led the whole way and they opened the game with a four-run first inning. They added three insurance runs in the third inning for the victory.
Cassie Forbes and Courtney English scored two runs apiece for the Mustangs and Audra Forbes, Chelsea Hess and Jasmine Tolbert each crossed the plate once.
Crystal Rolin and Lameika Baldwin each scored one run for the Flames.
Pepsi Challengers 5 – City of Atmore Utility Flames 1
The Flames jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third inning June 6, but the Challengers scored five runs in the fourth inning for the win.
Canausha Crenshaw, Shaquandia Gray, Tieka North, Cierra Sanders and Andrea Jackson each scored one run in the fourth inning for the Challengers and Minika Smith scored the only run for the Flames.
Masland Carpet Rugrats 11 – Johnson Ford Rangers 5
A three-run first inning was not enough for the Rangers June 6 as they allowed seven runs in the final two innings of the game for the loss.
Paige Allen scored three runs for the Rugrats, Amber Huskey and Ebony Bowman crossed the plate twice and Niki Everette, Niki Bryan, Makeria Williams and Alanna Johnson each scored one run.
Page Lancaster crossed the plate twice for the Rangers and Breann Rolin, Chelsey Ramer and Kendra Beachy each scored one run.
10-12 year olds
United Bank Silver Eagles 18 – Masland Carpet Rugrats 2
The Silver Eagles scored seven runs in each of the first and second innings. They tacked on four more runs in the third and final inning.
Sydney McGhee, Taylor Helton and Alexandria Martin each scored three runs for the Silver Eagles. Caitlyn Bruley, Taylor Byrd and Courtney Cook scored two runs apiece and Brandalyn Homan, Chrissy Gohagen and Ashlyn Clemmons each scored one run.
Paige Allen and Makeria Williams each scored one run for the Rugrats.
United Bank Silver Eagles 14 – SAV Sluggers 13
Ali Martin led the Silver Eagles by scoring three runs in their close victory June 6. Sydney McGhee, Brandalyn Homan and Taylor Helton each scored two runs and Courtney Cook, Taylor Beahm, Kristen Gehman, Chrissy Gohagen and Taylor Byrd contributed one run apiece.
For the Sluggers, Lacie Flowers scored three runs, Amy Morris, Nikki McGhee and Shykeitha Crenshaw crossed the plate twice and Brooke McGhee, Davisha Johnson, Cha'Nae Lyles and Brianna Lane scored one run.
Johnson Ford Rangers 13 – SAV Sluggers 7
The first inning of the Rangers vs. the Sluggers game June 6 saw 17 combined runs and the Rangers scored three in the second inning of the two-inning game to add to their lead.
Breann Rolin, Chelsey Ramer and Kendra Beachy each scored two runs for the Rangers. Page Lancaster, Allie Brooks, Shelly Mothershed, Courtney Weaver, Shyla Godwin, Jasmine Ireland and Skyla Ryals each added one run scored.
The Sluggers received one run scored from Lacie Flowers, Brooke McGhee, Nikki McGhee, Davisha Johnson, Kaitlin Rolin, Brianna Lane and Leslie Smith.
6-9 year olds
David's Catfish Marlins 8 – Angela's &Company Nailers 8
Kaylee Cox and Yehelle Walker each scored two runs for the Marlins June 8 and Darby Randolph, Cierra Stots, Ashleigh Simpkins and Taylor West each scored one run.
Peyton Snider scored two runs for the Nailers and Aliaha Crenshaw, Victoria Sawyer, Stacie George and Taylor Hill each crossed the plate once.
First National Bank &Trust Magnolias 4 – Hendrix's Tractor Balers 2
The Magnolias pulled off a come-from-behind victory June 8 with three runs in the fourth inning. Justice Poole scored one run in the third and Kari Mason, Ariel Whatley and Annah Nichols each crossed the plate once in the fourth inning.
Madyson McGlotheren and Grayson Emmons each scored one run for the Balers.
