The search for a new offensive line coach at Escambia County High School ended earlier this month. The Blue Devils' new coach is William Casaday from Summerdale.
ECHS head football coach Kyle Davis said he is glad to fill the hole. The spot was open after John Williford resigned June 5.
"He will bring energy to our program and I believe he will fit in with all the other coaches just fine," Davis said. "He is eager to get out there and start coaching and he wants to help the ECHS program return to its winning ways."
Casaday is 25 years old and a graduate Evangel University in Springfield, Mo. where he was an offensive and defensive lineman. He graduated from Robertsdale High School in 1999 and is coming from a coaching job at Central Baldwin County Middle School.
He will be the physical education teacher at ECHS and the offensive line coach of the football team. Davis said he might not be experienced, but that is not always a problem.
"He is very eager to coach and I know he will put in the time to be a good coach because with time comes experience," he said. "We are glad to have him onboard."
