Racing time again

The second race of the summer at the Atmore Motocross Track is already underway. The races began last night and continue today.
Bobby and Shane Hadley are the owners of the track, located on Hope Grant Road in Atmore, and said coming out for a race weekend would be a great way to occupy your weekend.
"We are hoping for another good racing weekend," Bobby Hadley said.
Saturday kicked off the action with races in the money pit bike 10-inch OEM wheel &under for ages 15 years and up, money pit bike 12-inch OEM wheel &under for ages 15 years and up, money pit bike 14-inch OEM wheel and under for ages 15 years and up, junior pit bike 14-inch OEM wheel and under for ages 14 and under, mini quad 90cc and under for ages 12 years and under, open c/d quad for novice and beginner riders, open quad money for ages16 years and up, sport 12-15 years old with 350 four-stroke or 240 two-stroke and under, open a/b quad for expert &intermediate riders, open quad for sport class riders and up, women's quad for ages 12 and up in free class, endurance moto 125cc and up, endurance moto 85cc and 65cc, endurance moto 50cc/ minitrail.
The rest of the weekend fun will take place today. The last race on the track was the weekend of June 24-25 when the Summer Bash invaded Atmore.
Bobby Hadley said adding four classes of four-wheelers to the race schedule was one reason for holding the pit bike and quad races on Saturday. Organized practice was held from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday for all classes of quad and MX bikes.
The gates will open up at 7 a.m. today and MX Church service will begin at 8 a.m., followed by racing practice at 9 a.m. and the races after practice.
"We are looking forward to having another race and can't wait for the people to start piling in," Bobby Hadley said.
