Local business owners learned the importance of first impressions during this months Business Before Hours held at Annie's Community Cup Wednesday morning.
Al Bennett from Jefferson Davis Community College and Byron Dunn of Alabama Technology Network presented a video presentation called "The In's and Out's of Great Customer Service."
"We are all guilty of not being good customer service representatives," Bennett said. "People need to understand that someone is always watching and no matter what the circumstances in your life, you are still working and are paid to do a job and to do it well."
Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce members viewed a presentation that featured a successful restaurant entrepreneur and the four things he has found to be successful in the area of customer service.
The video was created in an effort to help business owners learn from famous business owner's mistakes and to instill the importance of friendly customer service.
"So often people come to Atmore to visit and base their opinion of the town on the customer service they receive while here," Chamber director Emilie Mims said. "Good customer service is so important to everyone."
Bennett and Dunn shared the four concepts depicted in the presentation: service, attitude, consistency and teamwork.
"We are a community college and want to be a part of this community," Bennett said. "We offer just about any kind of training businesses need. All they have to do is check with us first and we will let them know if we can help."
