Jimmy C. Dennis
ATMORE- Mr. Jimmy C. Dennis, age 58, passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2006 at his residence in Atmore. He attended Escambia County Training School in Atmore.
His parents John and Eloise Treadwell precede him in death.
Dennis is survived by a special friend, Gwen Jackson of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Chiqutia Dennis of Atlanta, Ga., and Shenita Dennis of Copperas Core, Texas; one son, Christopher Dennis of Atlanta, Ga; five sisters, Ruby (Ken) Crook of Detroit, Mich., Mattie Davis of Atlanta, Ga., Geraldine Smith, Eloise Dirden and Irene Dirden all of Atmore; four brothers, Bobby Dennis, Johnny (Jean) Dennis, Calvin (Ayanna) Treadwell all of Atmore, and Lester (Sabrina) Dennis of Copperas Core, Texas and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at Old Ship Missionary Baptist Church in Atmore with Rev. Tony McAroy officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.
The family received friends from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2006 at Turner Funeral Home.
Turner Funeral Home Chapel was in charge of all arrangements.
Walteena Lynette Leslie
ATMORE – Ms. Walteena Lynette Leslie, age 21, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 in USA Hospital. She was a native of Atmore.
Leslie attended Escambia County High School in Atmore. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her mother Torris Leslie Davis, of Atmore; her father, Alphonse Davis of Atmore; special friend, Jovan Brown of Atmore; one son, Jovan Brown, Jr., of Atmore; three sisters, Tatyana Davis, Claudia Leslie, and Amber Russell all of Atmore; two brothers, Alphonse Davis, Jr., and Donta Russell both of Atmore; grandparents, Claudia (Sam) Curry, Bobby Leslie and Waymon Wingate all of Atmore; great grandmother, Cornilia Brooks of Atmore and step father, Larry Pettway of Atmore.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church in Atmore with Rev. Robert Davis officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.
Public viewing was held Friday, Aug. 25, 2006 from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of all arrangements.
Annie B. Stevenson
BAY MINETTE – Mrs. Annie B. Stevenson, age 75, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006 at her residence.
She was a native of Sumpter and a resident of Bay Minette for many years. She was a retired cook from Orange Tavern Restaurant in Hempstead, N.Y.
Stevenson is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Leona Clark and stepfather, Willie Maye.
She is survived by two daughters, Janell (John) Gandy of Bay Minette, and Patricia Ann (Peyton) Winters of Brea, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Taylor of East Cleveland, Ohio and Sarah Harris of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Raymond McGruce of Stockton and John D. Mayer of Detroit, Mich.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel in Atmore. Burial followed in Stockton Cemetery in Stockton.
Public viewing was held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2006 at Turner Chapel.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of all arrangements.
