Lieselotte S. Currie
McCULLOUGH – Mrs. Lieselotte S. Currie, 69 of McCullough, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 in Atmore. She was a homemaker born in Ansbach, Germany on May 4, 1937 to the late George and Anna Herbolsheimer Stamminger.
A brother, Werner Stamminger, precedes her in death. Survivors are: her husband, Timothy F. Currie of McCullough; two daughters, Marianne Garr and husband, Joe of St. Louis, Mo., Heidi Currie of Mobile; a brother, Herbert Stamminger and wife, Inge of Ansbach, Ga.; four grandchildren, Frank Currie Garr, Maxwell Currie Garr, Rose Riley Garr and Louis Timothy Garr.
Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006 at 11 a.m. from Brooks Memorial Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Grindle, Dr. DeWitt Allen, Bro. Tom Thurman and Bro. Jim Allen officiating. Interment followed in McCullough Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were: Joe Garr and the deacons of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church and Willing Workers Sunday school class.
Family received friends Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006 at Brooks Memorial Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until service time.
Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the McCullough Cemetery Fund at 43 Washington Avenue, Atmore.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
Edward Theodore Clayton
ATMORE – Mr. Edward Theodore Clayton, Sr., age 93, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 at a local hospital.
Mr. Clayton was a native of East Brewton and has been a resident of Atmore since the age of sixteen. He was a member and past Master of Carney Lodge #549 in Atmore, the Scottish Rite, the ABBA Temple Shrine, owner and operator of the Ben Franklin Dime Store in Atmore, attended the Baptist Church and was active in a number of civic organizations. His wives, Lillian Boone Clayton and Grace Dorriety Clayton, preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his son, Ted and Charlotte White Clayton, Jr., of Magnolia Springs; his daughter, Glenda and Nathan Lowry of Atmore; six grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeff Jones of Dothan, Ted Clayton, III of Marlow, Ashley Clayton of Amherst, Mass., Daniel Clayton of Fort Pierce, Fla., Tracy Lowry of Auburn and Tiffany and Chad Muilenburg of Dawsonville, Ga; and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating and Petty Funeral Homes, LLC, directing.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 between 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ted Clayton, III, Tracy Lowry, Jeff Jones, Blaine Chastang, Randy Dorriety and Alvin E. Owens.
Stephen Hugh Malone
POARCH – Mr. Stephen Hugh Malone, age 91, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 in Poarch. Mr. Malone was a native and lifelong resident of Poarch.
He was the oldest member of Judson Baptist Church, retired manager since 1976 from A &P Store in Atmore after 30 years, and an avid gardener. His wife, Mary Lou Malone, preceded him in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Harold Stephen and Wanda Malone of Deatsville, Gerald Hugh and Joan Malone of Bay Minette and Ted and Dawn Malone of Poarch; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held today, Aug. 30, 2006 at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Judson Cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006 between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Malone, Jeff Malone, Ryan Malone, Blake Malone, Adam Smith and Charles Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Bates Moore, Jr., Fred Bates Moore and Jordan Drew.
Erik R. Ferrell
SILVERHILL – Mr. Erik R. Ferrell, age 20, born in Mobile and a resident of Silverhill, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 in Preston, Conn. He was in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by: his daughter, Marissa Brooke Greco of Rabun; parents, Rhonda and Craig Dickinson of Silverhill; father Richard Preston Ferrell of Limestone, four sisters, Codi Ferrell, Jamie Ferrell, Andrea Dickinson and Kristi Dickinson all of Silverhill; grandparents, Rev. Joe and Marilyn Welch of Perdido, Inez Ferrell of Rabun and Dixie White of Silverhill; great grandparents, Evie T. Welch of Perdido, Linnie and Roy Johnson of Atmore and Ted Forsman of Silverhill and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Fretwell Tabernacle Church in Splinterhill with Sister Helen Stewart and Rev. John Sterling officiating. Interment will follow at the Silverhill Cemetery in Silverhill. The U.S. Navy honor guard will render military honors.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette.

Elders James Meshell
MONROEVILLE – Mr. Elders James Meshell, age 73 of Monroeville passed away Aug. 26, 2006 at USA Medical Center in Mobile.
Mr. Meshell was a native of Zwolle, La., and a resident of Monroe County for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church of Monroeville. Mr. Meshell worked for Harrigan Lumber Company of Monroeville for a few years.
Survivors are: his wife, Genese Meshell of Monroeville; three sons, James Tommy Rider of Gulf Port, Miss., Martin James Meshell of Monroeville, and Thomas Elders Meshell of Monroeville; three daughters, Kay Rider of Greenville, Missy Meshell Gage of Excel and Mandy Meshell Hooper of Atmore; four sisters, Catherine Procell of Joaquin, Texas, Theresa Altice of Houston, Texas, Margie Ebarb of Ebarb, La., and Vernita Manshack of Shreveport, La.; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Annunciation Catholic Church of Monroeville. Burial will follow at Excel Cemetery in Excel with Rev. Pat Madden officiating.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Daylon Ray Daniel, Sr.
BYRNEVILLE – Mr. Daylon Ray Daniel, Sr., age 75, passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2006 at his home in Byrneville, Fla.
Mr. Daniel was a native of Wynn, Ark., and had been a resident of Byrneville, Fla., since 1994 and was a former resident of Paragould, Ark., and Ypsilanti, Mich. He was a member of the Byrneville United Methodist Church. He was employed in management in the Ford Motor Company for 35 years. He was a star football player in high school and college. He was a rodeo contestant for 30 years and a trail rider.
Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Virginia Nell Daniel of Byrneville, Fla.; two sons, Daylon Ray Daniel II of Canton, Mich., Joel Dee Daniel and wife Carol of Brighton, Mich.; two daughters, Toni Sue Newberry and husband Robert of Dallas, Texas, Jennifer Nell Sperry and husband, Steve of Patterson, Calif.; tow brother in laws, Joe and Alice Whittington of Byrneville, Fla., John and Maxine Whittington of Knoxville, Tenn.; ones sister in law Sara Daniel of McCrory, Ark.; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Byrneville United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Jackson Synder and Rev. Diane Lawson officiating.
Active pallbearers were: Tommy Stuckey, Kenny Ley, Mike Gentry, David Bashore, Dick Deck and Dennis Deck.
Honorary pallbearers were: Phillip Kelly, Richard Moore, Elmo Fillingim, Steve Clay, Dr. Woody Ash, Bill Cox, Roy Carpenter, Jim Hall, Laurence Jackson, Jenry Weekly an Robert Smith. Burial followed in Byrneville Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Betty Carolyn Sewell Gaines
BROMLEY – Betty Carolyn Sewell Gaines, 63, of Bromley died Saturday Aug. 19, 2006 in Montrose. She was a homemaker, born in Baldwyn, Lee County, Miss. on Sept. 4, 1942 to Liver Buren Sr. and Flossie Earlene Bradley Sewell.
Survivors are her husband, Herbert Edwin Gaines of Bromley; her mother, Earlene B. Sewell of Mobile; one son, Herbert Edwin Gaines Jr. and wife Wanda K. Gibson Gaines of Atmore; two daughters, Karen Illene Bradford and husband, Christopher of Daphne and Kimberly Gaines "Disney" Russell and husband, Eric B. of Loxley; one brother, Oliver Buren Sewell Jr. of Saraland; one sister, Palmetta McDonald of Mobile; a special friend, like a sister, Carol L. Smith of Fairhope; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006 in Bay Minette Cemetery with Bro. Archie Shipp officiating.
Active pallbearers were: David Earl Bradford, Charles Thomas Zellers, III, Cory Nathaniel Zellers, Joshua Buren Bradford, Taylor Levi Jared Disney and Blake Moye.

Travis W. Booker
MONROEVILLE – Mr. Travis W. Booker, age 67, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 in Monroeville.
Mr. Booker was a native of Pensacola, Fla., a resident of Monroeville and a former resident of Pine Orchard. He was retired from Monsanto after 35 years, attended the Lone Star Community of Christ Church, and was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Booker and his parents, Earl S. and Lahleen Booker.
Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Barbara Bout well Booker of Monroeville; his son, Burton Booker of Wilmer; his daughter, Lisa Eaton of Wilmer; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; four brothers, Bill and Linda Booker of Robertsdale, Larry and Judy Booker of Monroeville, Johnny and Elaine Booker of Evergreen, and Marty Booker of Monroeville; and three sisters, Lois and Vurl Duce of Destin, Fla., and Dana Hayes of Monroeville and Melba McKenzie of Virginia.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Morris and Rev. Andy Boutwell officiating. Burial will follow at Lambeth-Boutwell Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Boutwell, Terry Boutwell, Sidney Boutwell, Joe Brown, Chad Johnson and Michael Boutwell.
