Alonzo Brown
ATMORE – Mr. Alonzo Brown, 63, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope. Mr. Brown was a resident of Atmore and worked in carpentry and construction.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Janovah Spencer Brown and Alonzo Brown Sr.
Mr. Brown is survived by his caregiver, Vanessa Rothchild of Atmore; son, Alonzo Slade of Pensacola, Fla.; sister, Betty Jean Summers of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Richard Allen Brown of Detroit, Mich. and Kenneth Ray Brown of Atmore and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 at Turner Funeral Home with Bishop Willie L. Williams officiating.
Burial followed in Lucious Cemetery in Atmore.
Tuner Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Arthur Cody
ATMORE – Mr. Arthur Cody was born July 11, 1925 to the late Mr. Abe and Mrs. Bertha Cody in Orlando, Fla. He departed this life on Oct. 27, 2006 at the Atmore Community Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and eight sisters and brothers. He was married to the late Mrs. Myrtice Chilsom Cody. He was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church of Atmore.
Mr. Cody served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class for 21 years.
Mr. Cody leaves to cherish his memories a son and three daughters, Alfred (Sandra) Chilsom of Atmore, Grace Ethel Cody of Detroit, Mich., Shelia Cody Darby of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and Carol Cody Lee of Fayetteville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at Liberty Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Lucius J. Fair officiating. Interment followed at Stallworth Cemetery.
Pallbearers included, Wilfred Finely, Larry Jackson, Juquan Coley and Joshua Coley
Emma Luvine Huggins
ATMORE – Mrs. Emma Luvine Huggins, 74, of Atmore died on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born in Jay, Fla. on May 22, 1932 to Bennie and Alice Manning. Mrs. Huggins was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Sonny Blackmon; one sister, Agnes Manning and one brother Jimmy Manning.
Survivors include, her husband, Grady Lee Huggins; four daughters, Glenda Diane Mason of Atmore, Kathy Clark King, Diane Blackmon, Lisa Shanonbaun of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Allen Blackmon and George Blackmon of Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Evelyn Cowen of Tennessee, Mae Goodale, and Edna Ard of Pensacola, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006 from the Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial followed at Serenity Gardens in Atmore. The family received friends from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at the funeral home. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Agnes J. Patrick
TALLAHASSEE – Agnes J. Patrick of Tallahassee died Tuesday, October 31, 2006, in Tallahassee, Fla. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.
A native of Flomaton, Mrs. Patrick had lived in Tallahassee since 1961. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and the Christian Women's Club in Tallahassee.
Survivors include, her sister, Eleanor Weekley of Montgomery; niece, Sandra Patrick (Bonner) of Montgomery; nephew, Johnny Weekley (Kai) of Weptumpka; aunt, Nobie Cobb of Huxford; cousin, Kay Mason (Terrell) of Tallahassee and a host of cousins in Alabama and many dear friends in Tallahassee.
Mrs. Patrick is preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Scruggs Johnson and John Wesley Johnson, and by her husband, Ralph Patrick.
Fairchild Funeral Home of Tallahassee is in charge of the arrangements.
