Linda Gayle Harrison Smith
ATMORE – Mrs. Linda Gayle Harrison Smith, 46, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at a Mobile hospital.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Uriah and a resident of Atmore since 1972. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister and attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include, her husband, Jefferson Smith of Atmore; two daughters, Shelia Rene and Benjamin Godwin of Atmore and Becky Gayle Smith of Atmore; two grandchildren, Jamie Kimbler and Katelyn Godwin; her father and stepmother, Roy C. and Elizabeth Harrison of Flomaton; her mother and stepfather, Louise and Jim Robarts of Pensacola, Fla.; her sister, Carolyn L. and Randal Johnson of Pensacola, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Mike White of Chicago, Ill. and Samuel Jackson of Flomaton; three stepsisters, Donnette Garvin of Flomaton, Renea Black of Orlando, Fla., and Lynn Garcia of Auburn; three sisters-in-law, Elaine White of Bay Minette, Donna Nefzer of Mobile and Sarah Elizabeth Paul of Summerdale and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Welch officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 between 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Don Nefzer, Thomas Harris, Randal Johnson, Larry McDuffie, Jimmy White, and Robbie Garrett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Hall, Billy White and Tony Embley.
Janie Godwin
McDAVID – Mrs. Janie Godwin, 87, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 at a Santa Rosa hospital.
Mrs. Godwin was a native of Uriah, a former resident of Atmore, for most of her life and a resident of McDavid, Fla. for the past few months. She attended the Atmore Baptist Temple and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Godwin; a daughter, Patsy Ann Godwin and a grandson, Eddie James Godwin.
Survivors include, three sons, Carl and Sylvia Godwin of Century, Fla., James Godwin of Atmore and Leon and Patricia Godwin of Dogwood Park; four daughters, Cathryn and O'Neil Bell of Davisville, Fla., Laura and Baney Barnard of St. Elmo, Faye and Robert Harrison of Davisville, Fla. and Shirley and Kenny Huges of Oak Grove, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Harrison and the Rev. John Shambling officiating.
Burial followed at Sardis Cemetery.
Visitation was held Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Michael Wilson, Eddie Wilson, Billy Wayne Harrison, Robbie Godwin, Tyler Harrison, Joe Westbrook, Brian Singleton and Bradley Singleton.
