Atmore resident busted for crack

An Atmore resident is behind bars after being arrested Monday for selling drugs from a motel room at Greenlawn Motel in Atmore located on Highway 31.
J.L. Banks Jr., 24, was arrested after several undercover drug purchases were made from room 119 at the motel.
Agents with the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force along with officers from the Atmore Police Department executed a search warrant for the room after the purchases were made.
According to their reports, agents recovered marijuana and crack cocaine during the search.
Banks was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center where he was charged with unlawful possession and distribution of crack cocaine and unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree.
The 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force is comprised of the following law enforcement agencies: Escambia County Sheriff's Department, Atmore Police Department, East Brewton Police Department, Brewton Police Department, Flomaton Police Department, Escambia County District Attorney's Office, Poarch Police Department and the Escambia County Commission.
