Northview football head coach Cody Keene pegged six seniors as the players who would contribute the most to the team's success in the 2006 season before the year began.
Of those six players, five participated in the Pensacola Sports Association All-Star High School Football Game and were part of the West squad. That squad won the senior showcase in overtime, 10-9.
Although the five Northview players did not see much action, Keene said they did well.
"They all played well and represented themselves and Northview well," Keene said.
Deonta Davison, John Donaldson, Sean Little, Travion Lockett and Kenny Wilson were the athletes representing Northview. The game had senior all-star talent from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties in Florida. Keene said this year's group was the largest group of players NHS has ever sent and he expects to continue to send five or six athletes to the game.
Keene said the 9-1 season was a big reason NHS had so many guys in the showcase.
"Any time you win ball games it is good for the kids," Keene said.
