Margaret Etheridge Reese
TULAROSA, N.M. – Margaret Etheridge Reese, 71, of Tularosa, N.M., formerly of Nokomis, Fla., went to be with our Lord on Jan. 9, 2007. She was of the Baptist faith and accepted the Lord at an early age. She was known as Sister Cotton because when she was young her hair was the color of the cotton she often picked.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Lee Etheridge Barlow and Bill Etheridge and stepfather Walter Barlow. Her husband Bill Reese, one son, Richard Reese, sisters, Ivie Robinson, Lydia Nutter, Edith Ortego, brother, Pe Joe Barlow.
Survivors include, her children, Angela Reese of N.M., John Reese of Texas, Mary Parrish of OH, and Will Reese of N.M.; sisters, Georgia Smith of Texas, Judy Rathsack of Atmore, Diane Elkins of Atmore, Debbie Barlow of McDavid, Fla.,Theresa Holland of Atmore, Genevieve Bell of Century, Fla., Margaret Bryars of Perdido; brothers, Jessie Etheridge of Atmore, Donald Barlow of Mc David, Fla., Frank Barlow of Perdido, Tobe Barlow of Texas, Floyd Barlow of Texas, and James Barlow of Texas; her grandchildren, Daniel Reese, Andrew Reese, Margaret Reese of N.M, Alexandria Reese, William Reese of N.M., Nicholas Parrish, Zachary Parrish, David Parrish, Samuel Parrish of Ohio; many nieces and nephews; special cousins, Sam Lee and Billy Ray Lee who were like brothers and many childhood friends from the Atmore Area.
Burial was at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.
Glenda Faye Hall
ATMORE – Mrs. Glenda Faye Hall, 63, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 in Atmore.
Mrs. Hall was a native of Atmore, lived most of her life in Bratt, Fla., and was a resident of Atmore since 1981. She was an avid gardener, loved wildlife and cats and attended the Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Nora Mae Hall, and two brothers, Ray Dean Hall and Elvon Hall.
Survivors include, two daughters, Denise Mason of Inverness, Fla. and Wanda Mason and David Thompson of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Shane Fussell and Ashley Hale, both of Inverness, Fla.; and a brother, Wildon Hall of Lake City, Fla.
Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Godwin Cemetery with Rev. Fred Brown officiating.
Pallbearers were Rodney Coker, Brad Bohl, John Mason, Bryon Vaughn, Corey Nall, and Danny Nall.
Mary Elizabeth Lindsey
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lindsey, 83, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 in Grand Bay.
Mrs. Lindsey was a native of Atmore, a resident of Flomaton for the past 50 years and attended the Flomaton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include: her husband, Curtis Lindsey of Flomaton; two daughters, Julia Lanier of Mobile and Margaret Moody of Carrollton, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Ash officiating.
Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 from noon until funeral time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Tom Arrington, Charlie Brown, Lewis Foster, Gary V. Jones, Glenn Mille and Tony Moolani.
Beatrice "Dennis" Plant
Mrs. Beatrice "Dennis" Plant, 79, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 in Atmore.
Mrs. Plant was a native of Davisville, Fla. and a resident of Bratt, Fla. for the past 59 years, and a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She loved her family and the Davisville Community Church.
Survivors include, her husband of 59 years, Pellar H. Plant of Bratt, Fla.; two sons, Pete and Kim Plant of Bratt, Fla. and Michael and Wanda Plant of Atmore; two daughters, Lois and Leon Chavers of Davisville, Fla., and Lou Edna and Donnie Bass of Bratt, Fla.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald and Betty Ann Dennie of Oak Grove, Fla.; and a sister, the Rev. Nora Jacobs of Summerfield, Fla.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at 2p.m. at the Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Nora Jacobs officiating.
Burial will follow at the Godwin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 from 12:30 p.m. until funeral time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Eric Plant, John Chavers, Jeremy Bass, Caleb Dennis, Joseph Bass, Jeffery Dennis, and Wesley Eicher.
David Lee Wiggins
David Lee Wiggins was born on Jan. 28, 1946 in Atmore to the late Mr. Arelious and Annie Ree Wiggins. He later moved to Dayton, Ohio and returned to Atmore in 2002. He departed his life on Jan. 18, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Manford and Edward Wiggins.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Deborah Wiggins of Dayton, Ohio; three daughters, Desmonia and Deonna (Chris) Wiggins of Dayton, Ohio, and Carla Coleman of Atmore; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Arelious Wiggins, Jr., John P. (Rachel) Wiggins, Willie James (Loretha) Wiggins, Claude (Patricia) Wiggins, Prince (the late Flora) Wiggins all of Atmore, Joe Lewis (Minnie) Wiggins of Century, Fla.; sister-in-law, Lillie Ruth Wiggins; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relative, friends and one devoted best friend Willie Carl Wiggins (Dic).
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007 at 1p.m. at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie L. Banks officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends and flower bearers will be nieces and friends.
Robinson Christian Memorial is in charge of all arrangements.
